Smoky snuff recommendations?

C

So far some of my favourite snuffs have a deep, rich smoky flavor, even if they have little else in common.  SG Scotch Black, F&T Princes, WoS Whisky.  Any other suggestions for that peaty, smoky goodness?  Either natural or ideally with other flavors, too.  I just got a sample of Bernard Gekachelter Virginie but haven’t tried it yet, and am contemplating Celtic Talisman.

I’m a pipe smoker and like latakia, and especially latakia-aromatic crossovers like Frog Morton, Pembroke, etc.

Togue Natural toast, WOS IHT, American Scotches.

Molens AO 1860 if you can got your paws on a box.

OSP Batch 2 is smokey, but tastefully done to the point where it’s not just campfire.

Also, it occurs to me that if Cobguy ever goes back into production, you two would be a match made in heaven.

Thanks - keep 'em coming!

Some of the American scotch snuffs use Dark Fired Kentucky in their recipes. Rooster, by US Smokeless, is fine and dry, with a nice kick and a smooth smokiness.

You may like Elmo’s reserve it smells like 1792 flake. 2nd Sir Walter Scott Latakia blend.  Molens AO 1860 and A/P blend. Any American Plain Scotch some are smokier then others.

C

@basement_shaman that one’s on my list! I love 1792, though it’s pretty powerful. I don’t have a massive nicotine tolerance, so the snuff might be just the ticket.

D

Tried any Schmalzlers?

S

Rooster is the smokiest snuff I’ve ever had, but it seems to be hard to come by anywhere apart from the US now.

Y

I think the OSP snuffs are smokey. But I haven’t tried the others that were mentioned.

C

@Dxx - so far only Bernard Brasil Doppelt-Fermentiert, which I didn’t find smoky at all.  Any one in particular you’re thinking of?

D

@Chico - I’m currently using a lot of Poeschl A and, beyond the expected fruit, I get some smoke. As a caveat, nostrils will differ but, smokey or not, it’s fantastic.

C

@Dxx - I have a tiny of sample of that which I’ll try tonight, thanks.
