Smoky Fruit Snuff

C

Would anyone here be interested in smoky fruit snuff?  I have some seriously wonderful dark fired Kentucky that I want to scent/flavor with fruit; first up would be blackberries infused into black rum along with some other goodies.

Interested?

S

For you chef, there will always be many folks ready to queue up to sample your new creations.

:-h

M

Did someone say blackberry, rum, and smoke?  Sounds pretty amazing…

J

Interested in an Old Mill creation? Always!

S

I love the fruit toasts, so I’m definitely interested.

H

That would be such a great winter snuff. I’m in too.

M

sounds interesting, though I would probably prefer it without the blackberries and other goodies being a fan of Navy flake pipe tobacco, speaking of which, some SG Navy Flake in tribute to your creativity.

H

@Mouse You would like the Marlin Spike. Smoke, cedar, and seawater.

M

@Hitsuzen, I do like it, it’s been a while, think I’ll have some. Thanks for the reminder.

H

Yes sounds interesting. Would be willing to try.

D

Sounds pretty damned good to me. Although I’ll end up having to explain to the wife why I need more snuff.

C

Now that I’ve gotten to know this leaf a little better I am definitely going to use it Dreamweaver.  I am also considering it as part of a new tobacco bill for Onyx.

It’s a bit assertive as a stand alone snuff for my tastes; the scent lasts way too long, there’s a sticky texture to it that won’t make it mill friendly “as-is” and it’s pretty one dimensional.

Some air cured and flue cured will help balance things out somewhat, with a moderate % of Turkish/Oriental as a top note?

Thoughts?

J

@chefdaniel, sounds great!    smoky fruit cut a bit to dry the texture would be nice.
I like the above-mentioned references to certain pipe tobacco

M

Kentucky/Izmir/VA toast! Screw the fruit, lol.

C

@Mouse  Why not some of both?  I got a great deal on this leaf and have enough to go around for a few batches.  I just happen to have several pounds of Izmir aging nicely

M

Good! I look forward to trying both.

N

I’d be interested in a snuff of that description, created by many a reputable snuff maker… but if it’s an Old Mill creation, my ‘interested’ stance spills over into ‘obsessive’ territory :))
