So I wanted to start this thread because it’s just not practical to decant every 5 or 10+g tin into glass, especially for my tins on the go in my shirt pockets. There are small ones, I can add the dimensions in an edit here later, but the aim here is to keep small tins fresher longer, as I said really small ones for the 5-10g tins, and larger ones to handle a 25g tin (WoS, Sam Gawith etc.), and maybe the 35-45g 6Photo tins- I realize those are smaller per gram weight to size ratio. I’ve just began a googling to compare prices etc. If I haven’t made it clear the idea is not to empty the tins into bags, but to slip each tin into it’s own bag. Any thought’s anybody?

here’s a couple links for you. I would go with the second link personally.
Iwan Ries sells the mylar ziploc pouches they use to package their pipe tobacco… Aluminized mylar won’t pass moisture, odors, or even oxygen the way most plastics will. 5 for $1.00:

Are you saying you want something to keep your tins in when you go out, or to preserve the tins you have at home? At home, in their tins, just put a load in an airtight container. If their in their tins it’s fine. When you’re out, just keep them in a ziplock back(make sure it has the little plastic zipper - squeeze shut ones will drive you made doing it constantly). Though I wouldn’t bother when I’m out with anything like that as tins hold up pretty good, it’s more to do with when you open the tin to take a pinch with losing quality, which is minimal anyway.
Itd be inconvenient if it were in a glass jar if he wants to take the snuff with him. He just wants baggies to slip the 10g tins into so there is an extra barrier.
FWIW, I put about 20 tins of Toque in a Seal-a-Meal bag, vacuum sealed it, and overnight the air inside the tins escaped into the bag and ALL of the tins crumpled in on themselves. Not pretty.
Yes, to protect the tins on the go with me, but also some just sitting around the house. I’m the kind of person who’s always sampling smaller tins, and I have many partial small tins going at any given time. Small non-leaky bags sound like the most user-friendly option. If I have a 25g-1 oz tin of something that’ll more often end up in glass, but not the small ones. The mylar could be good for some of my purposes, but transparent plastic would be better. I started looking at the smellyproof site, and will keep comparison shopping. Thank’s for the input folks!
