Smash Boxes - Question?

As many of you know, Tom from Nicotinerush sells 10g black smash boxes and also you get one full of a sample snuff with every order. I like to store a little bit of each snuff I have in one that way I don’t have to keep opening the large tins which I think could cause them to lose their flavors and humidity. I do this with all my F&T’s, Rooster, Tom Buck, and a homemade mixture I call Old Paris Kick. Do you think that this is an okay storage solution for these small amounts of snuff? Does it keep it fresh since they are pretty air tight?

Smash boxes are a short term storage solution. They don’t leak snuff, and will keep plain snuffs a long time, but highly perfumed snuff tends to loose scent over time in a smash box.

@glaach – I try to do the same thing. What I really wish somebody would sell and what I actually prefer are the containers such as Rockit 10g, QWS 10g, and FUBAR 10g come in, they are taller, are two completely separate pieces (lid and container), are much easier to open and close, and I think likely just as airtight as the ‘pillbox’ smashboxes being offered. @Nachman – highly scented stuff can also really taint a smashbox. I have just discovered this the hard way as of yesterday. I poured the little sampler packet of the evil Kamal that I had into a pink pillbox type (just like NicotineRush and MrSnuff sell but its a pillbox purchased in a drugstore and its pink) that I have and it wasn’t even in there very long at all before I just couldn’t take the Kamal at all and decided I needed the smashbox for other things, but no amount of washing and airing out this smashbox since can get rid of that insanely strong rose imprint that’s left there, apparently for evermore. I’m using RailRoad Mills Maccoboy in it now (since otherwise I can’t smell or taste Maccboy at all), and now it has left over Kamal rose scent on it, just from the smashbox its in.

haha… I tainted a snuff box with Kamal once myself. It’s my leftover SP box now.

I use a hard acrylic round pill container with a screw-on top from the Container Store. They’re $1 apiece and keep snuff fresh indefinitely if you screw on the top tightly, given the hard acrylic, as opposed to the soft smash box plastic. If you have a Container Store in your area, check them out. http://www.containerstore.com/shop/bath/medicationStorage?productId=10024522

Nope. Because its not named “World Of Containers” we’re not allowed to have it here. :frowning:

Yeah that Dholakia et al can really do a number on a container. I can’t stand the stuff myself and lament ever wasting a smashbox on it. Ya, live and learn.
