Sinus infection...

I’m fairly prone to sinus infections, and currently have one raging. I’ve been afraid to snuff as I’m concerned about particles flying up there and making it worse. My technique has gotten a lot better so i tend to keep most of it in my nose, but there is always some bits of snuff that just won’t cooperate. Have any of you had problems with snuff making bad sinuses worse? Does is not seem to bother anything? I’ve noticed that menthol is wonderful for opening things up when it’s just congestion.

I’m not prone to sinus infections, but I do find that if anything, snuff seems to clear out my sinuses. When the snuff hits those sensitive membranes, it makes them release a load of watery mucus, and that tends to soften and break down any thicker mucus I have up there, allowing me to blow it all out. I have no idea if having an infection up there would make this a bad idea though…

I have on occasion had a sinus infection which many times in treated with antibiotics (at least it is here in the U.S.) But I have found that snuff helps my sinuses to drain and I have actually had better overall sinus health since I started snuffing. I would go ahead and try it and see what happens you can always stop if it gets worse.

I hit the doc today and got some antibiotics as it also went into my lungs and eyes. I’ll give a few sniffs this afternoon and see how it feels. Thanks for the feedback. =D

Nicotine kills… germs (still, irritated skin is more prone to infection). Haven’t caught a cold or flu since I started snuffing.

Perhaps I need to suck some of it up into my sinuses the next time I feel an infection coming on. I can just imagine my doctor looking up in there and wondering what all the brown stuff is.

I felt a sinus infection coming on, and I sincerely believe I prevented it from becoming full blown and drawn out, thanks to snuff.

I tried out some of my Toque Menthol this afternoon and I’m a believer now. Not to get too graphic, but it has been a productive day since. That stuff just keeps me cleaned out. I’ll see if I can derail my next one by going hog wild.

I had chronic sinus troubles prior to taking up snuff, but since I’ve started I’ve not had any. Quite a pleasant surprise, actually.

Same here, always got a sinus infection after a cold before I started taking snuff.

I have a tendency towards sinusitis and there is absolutely no doubt that snuff makes it worse. I don’t have a problem with that and every once in a while (now as it happens) I have to have a break for a week or so. But that just gives me an excuse to smoke my pipe and have a few roll ups.
