Silverstone Orange discontinued?

I was thinking of placing an order with PipesandCigars.com a couple of months ago. The thing that stopped me was the fact that they had no link to add Silverstone Orange to my cart. I figured I’d wait a while and see if it changed. I went back last night and, same situation, Silverstone is listed but can’t be added to my cart. I sent them and email asking what was up and this was their reply: “Bill, So sorry to say that item has been discontinued, we haven’t had it in stock for quite some time. However, if we do ever run across any, I will do my best to let you know, I save all of my email. I’ve learned to never say never in this business. Let me know if you need anything else. Regards, Debbie Scarborough Customer Service PipesandCigars.com Habana Premium Cigar Shoppe 1-800-494-9144” I’m not trying to say that Debbie is wrong here but, can anyone confirm this? Has Silverstone Orange been discontinued? I know snuffshop.com still has some at $3.50 a pop. But, they seem to be the only place that does have them.

Yeah I’m not sure that the Orange Kool-Aid mix was a big hit. It may not be discontinued from the manufacturer but rather the US distributer?

I’m sorry I missed that one…

I’d be willing to bet the Ozona Orange that is available at most shops is Silverstone Orange in an Ozona Container. Anyone who has tried both, that can confirm?

Good thing I did not bet, I would have lost as I often do, lol. Thanks for sharing that bit of info Filek, I had been staying away from the Ozona Orange since I already had the Silverstone and figured them to be identical. I will now consider ordering some Ozona Orange down the road.

Ozona Orange has menthol to it. I don’t particularly care for it either. If I still had my tin, I’d send it to ya. But I already gave this one away. As far as the Silverstone, I ordered 6 of them from Snuffshop.com. That should hold me

I know one of Poo-Diddy’s old comments said it reminded him of Pez candy. Which is a good description. The scent also reminds me of when you pour an Orange Kool-Aid packet into a dry pitcher & the smell of the dust that comes up.

Well mars said that it was dropped by the US distributer over a year ago. So what ever Snuff Shop has is probably that old. Freshness does make a big difference with Poschl snuffs. The samples I got directly from Poschl had a lot more flavor than what I have ordered.

I’ve noticed that too. Their samples they sent me were fantastic. That’s why I have started vacuum sealing my extra snuff.

Yes, Wilson’s gives out samples as well. Wilson’s Sample Near the bottom there is a drop down list where you can choose which sample you would like.

Basically, for Poschl samples, you would have to send them an email telling them which of their products you really like, or would like to try but is not readily available in your area. They will usually offer to send samples.

unChris, also Dholakia gives samples if you haven’t signed up for those yet!

I can confrim that pipesandcigars.com still has Silverstone Orange, or did a few days ago when I ordered. I have mine in hand and it arrived Saturday. I was pleasantly suprised with the absence of menthol which Pöschl usually is heavy handed with. The flavor is not like the Ozona either. Pez and Kool Aid are apt descriptions though its not bad.

Well, it ain´t produced and shipped anymore by Pöschl for at least 12 months. It´s nothing unusual for Pöschl snuffs to lose all the menthol with time. Some are way better when old.

@Xander: I always thought it was more akin to orange tic-tacs as far as flavor. @Red Star: Silverstone Orange never had menthol in it. I bought a few when they were still relatively fresh and vacuum sealed them. I believe this was their only offering readily available in the U.S. that had no menthol.

Orange tic-tacs seems spot on. Good call, Satyr!

Shame I didn’t find out about this sooner in my snuff career. When I was little my mom scolded me for shoving orange tic-tacs up my nose. How fitting, in retrospect.
