I received my first order from Toque last Friday, and tried my first snuff that day. I absolutely love it, and am putting together another order from MrSnuff. Are there limitations on the amount I can have shipped to the US? Is there a certain weight restriction I should be, or have to be, under?
@IMakeBacon From what I have learned, in the US, if the total value of your imported goods, whether it is electronics, books, or snuff is less than $200 there will be no customs or import fees. This may have changed because I found this out directly from the US Customs office in the summer of last year. If you ordered less than $150 then I would be almost certain that there will be no fee. In terms of weight, I don’t know how you could order enough snuff to cost $150 to $200 or more that would break any weight restrictions. That would have to be like a $600 order or something crazy like that. Again I’m not %100 certain on my information I have provided here because it is what I learned last summer but I thought I would post with what I know. Happy snuffing!!
Technically, I think that the US custom’s limit is 200g of imported tobacco, at least when you’re traveling with the tobacco. NOTE: I am not a lawyer. That’s what I’ve seen on customs forms when traveling home to the US. If I’m not mistaken, it’s 2 cartons of cigs or 200g of non-cig tobacco. So I think you’re supposed to pay duty on more than 200g. I was a bit nervous traveling home last time from Mexico, but was glad my wife was with me to split the load between 2 people. I had just over 400g with me for the week. Don’t judge me. I was on vacation and wanted options. 
And it was all tobacco I had brought with me, so I wasn’t bringing new tobacco home from the trip. I had no trouble. However, with all that said, my experience says that @md363 's info is more relevant than anything I just typed with regards to orders from overseas. The only thing that I disagree with md363 about is my ability to order more than USD$200 of snuff. lol.
@puffpuff lol interesting to know about the 200g limit, my last order I placed tonight was 119g. I will keep that in mind next time because I wanted to keep adding things to this last order but decided not to because of lack of funds.
If you’re ordering by mail don’t get too freaked out by my post. I may or may not have exceeded that by 5x without trouble. That’s why I said your post is likely more relevant. My hypothetical 5x order was still below your stated $ amount.
I’ve received as much as 3 lbs. bulk in one order without any trouble from Mistersnuff.
for what it is worth we ship orders of many Kgs into the US on a regular basis with no issues. Parcels being stopped seems totally random in my experience.
I personally had about a third of the Wilsons warehouse shipped here a couple of years ago with no complications…
500g order from toque came in last week. Came in like 3 days. Must be some kind of record!!
I can attest to having zero issues from both Toque and a local US based cigar shop when ordering via the mail. And for me the kicker is that for Toque orders, they have to transit through the USA to be forwarded onto me- thus far I have had no problems and was in most cases over the 200g weight.
