SG Menthol

This is the last of the Samuel Gawith mentholated snuffs that I recently bought from My Smoking Shop as a bit of an experiment. Previously, with the exception of Zip, which I like (the camphor content does it for me), I hadn’t tried many of their mentholated or medicated snuffs. It has been an interesting journey. While the other Samuel Gawith mentholated or medicated snuffs I tried are subtle in their use of the menthol, SG Menthol bites! The level of menthol ranks with the Wilson’s of Sharrow SM range of medicated snuffs. No doubt many snuffers will be delighted by this but not me. Not only do I find it difficult to discern the base tobacco but it makes me sneeze more than any snuff I’ve tried in ages! It’s of medium grind and moisture and is yellow-brown in colour. The appearance reminds me very much of their Yellow Crest but with a hefty dose of menthol. Did I say there was a lot of menthol in there? Oh yes. I did.
