Had SG Irish D Light in my most recent order. It was out of production for a while and as a fan of natural snuff it was eagerly awaited. Have to say I was a bit disappointed. It has almost no flavour or aroma other than an unusual sweetness that reminds me of artificial pipe tobacco flavouring. The texture, while fairly fine is a bit like powdered chaff. It’s very fibrous. No particular challenge for someone like me who takes scotches and HDT before breakfast. But the reviews out there (and there are not that many) don’t quite match what I recieved. It has absolutely no smokiness to it and overall is incredibly bland. So in the name of experimentation I want to give it some extra “toasting”. Maybe coax some flavour out it. But how does one toast snuff? How hot, how long and what’s the ideal container? I don’t want to go burning off all the nicotine or literally scorch it brown… A few shades darker would probably suffice. Birko
