SG Blue Crest Scented... previously sampled?

I recently received a Mr. Snuff order which included a 25g tin or SG Blue Crest Scented. Finally getting home to pick it up, I opened it to see approximately half the contents were gone, as if there was some “return the unused portion” deal going on and I got a restocked item. Has anyone ever experienced this before? I’ll be contacting Mr. Snuff about this, but… yeah. Not a happy camper.

I’d be surprised if somebody could get through a half a tin of the scented before returning it lol. Probably just a production problem at Gawith’s and the tin didn’t get filled properly.

I’ve had a few SG/Viking tins that appeared to have much less snuff than the usual.  Luckily, those particular tins still had their vacuum seal.  I can’t imagine the density of snuff varies that much, so I’d guess it didn’t get filled properly at the manufacturer.  Who knows? Is it compacted in any way?

Similar issue on two occasions… I had a 25g SWS Anson’s Imperial was about half full.  It was moist and flavorful though, so no complaints.  Second was a 25g tin of Berwick Brown that was half full and super dried out.  I assumed it was a problem during packing.

Two out of about a million tins ain’t bad odds. haha

The snuff isn’t compacted at all. I’ll be talking with Mr. Snuff about it.

Yeah, give them a chance to make it right.

I used to weigh my SG snuff .But I Stopped. I got tired of getting pissed off. I only found a few tins that were the correct weight. Never one over.

Mr. Snuff credited me for it, so all’s well that ends well.

@snuffsahoy Quite right. Makes me much more comfortable that if there are any issues with the large order I’m currently putting together, they’ll get sorted straight away.

I just posted another thread about customer service at Mr. Snuff. Long story short, there was an inventory issue and Mike made it right within an hour when I emailed. I’m comfortable spending my precious dollars there.
