Seasonal Snuff Preferences

As the weather is changing from Winter into solid Spring where I live, I find my snuff tastes changing, and I’m sure they’ll change again when it’s 100 degrees everyday. I find myself doing a lot less Scotchs and Toasts, more menthols and especially more SPs. The warmer it is, the better the cool from the menthol feels, and there’s something about SP’s that seem especially spring-like. I’m stocked up on Spanish Gem, because I know that’s going to be good in an air conditioned room on an intensely hot sunny day, but I don’t foresee myself doing much Toast’s this summer. I didn’t take my first pinch until about 7Pm this evening, but put on The Grateful Dead Europe '72, opened a Sierra Nevada, and had a big pinch of Toque Original, and I swear, it was more blissful than the first cigarette of the day when I was smoking. Warm, early evening sundown, The Dead, and a noseful of long-lasting bergamot and a slight sweetness. And now a small pinch of SM 500 to soothe the passages before bed. Neither would have seemed so good, however, a few weeks ago when it was 32 and snowing. Do other people have seasonal snuff preferences, or do you just have basically the same rotation year round? When I was smoking, it was the same thing everyday. Snuff is so incredibly more interesting.

I’ve found that I use WoS Crumbs of Cofort during the winter. The cool air really brings out the spearmint. I love taking a couple of big pinches before walking out to my truck in the morning.

I’ve only used snuff during the winter, so I don’t know about my preferences changing with the warmer weather. It’ll be interesting to find out.
