There was an old thread with very passing talk of these… but I was wondering if anyone has actually used one? Is there any benefit, or is it purely a novelty item?

Someone once said it made it easier to use certain snuffs. I don’t know seems like a pin in the neck to use.

How do you use it? Are those holes at the front that you stick up to both nostrils?

From what I understand, you stick the front holes in your nose, fill the end holes with snuff and use your fingers on the middle holes to vary the air pressure? Like Bob said, seems like a pain… but it might very well be useful at times?

Wonder what would happen with say a high toast vs smalzer? I would think would make a huge difference pending grind and moisture content. Whether water or oil. But still, it is kind of cool.

You know these snuff heads always trying to invent a better mouse trap. Novelty Item!!! I would cut it in half length wise and give it to you .

Well, they’re getting there, I suppose… more convenient than a table-top nose catapult.

Catapulting snuff in the dark. Only till I need glasses

Doing both nostrils simultaniously just won’t work for those of us with deviated septums.

Uh…being blind, I can attest to the dangers of catapulting snuff in the dark. And no, you won’t be able to stop just in time to only need eyeglasses. On the same sort of topic, I read somewhere that someone in England patented a snuff pistol that actually used a gunpowder charge to shoot the snuff up into both nostrils. Now *that*s* a good idea…

Well this item is ridiculous to me, but a snuff pistol, well that has practical applications! Imagine a snuff pistol at close range loaded with D White! You could mess up a polar bear with it!

@uncle_squinty, I saw a YouTube video a while back I some guys in Germany using one of those airsoft pistols to shoot snuff up the nose. I’ll have to see if I can find the link… Believe it was g-priese

It’s a cool little gadget. First time I used it I was a bit gun shy, scared the shit out of me. It really gets the snuff up there.

The German shops usually have a range of them. There was also one guy who had a webshop of the ones he made. He had a custom snuff too: STM Hausprise. I can’t find the site now, but he also had handmade wood toys and things.

Didn’t someone say that the Hausprise was a rebranded Poschl product?

It was a rebranded Bernard. I forget which, but it was one of the two sold in the big boxes.
