Samuel Gawith Snuff

I have decided i like this brand a lot after setting out to find some fruit snuffs i wanted to stick with and trying various others from WoS and McChrystals first which has led to me ordering some Irish D Original and some McCrombie which i’m sure i will like too. I love their fruit flavours because they are easy going with nice afterblow and i can feel the nicotine too but only came upon them after trying the other brands first as they don’t seem to come up much in discussion. Does anyone else like these as well or have any recommendations from their range of snuffs.

They do a great fruity SP, I think its called ‘High Mill’ or something similar but my memory is failing due to flu at the moment! Its a great SP which I reviewed on the review site. I think Gawith make some great snuff

Sam Gawith makes some nice snuff. You should try the No. 1 High Mill, Honey, Black Coffee, SP Scotch, Yellow Crest, Strawberry. There are plenty more worth trying but these are some of my favorite SG snuffs. But to really enjoy them, make sure your getting them from someone who has fresh stock like the Snuff Store.

Yep, No 1 High Mill is the one I couldn’t remember - that is a great snuff. farley Flavours organised a group buy a while ago, so they do sell direct from the factory. How ya doin’ Trout?

snuffster, fruity SP Mmm that does sound good, sorry to hear you are unwell and hope you recover rapidly. I will check out that review. TS, i have have some of the Black Coffee from snuff store and it’s the only coffee snuff i have taken to at the moment which is a bit odd as i drink about 15 pints of strong coffee daily somehow this one just seems authentic. The ones i have on order are coming direct from SG so they will be nice and fresh. Thanks for the info gents

lxskllr, glad to hear it, out of your list i only have the Blue Crest so far Heres what i have Apricot Peach Strawberry SP Scotch Black Coffee Black Rappee KB Special They are all very good with scent and flavour top notch and perhaps most outstanding is that they have a quality which i would describe as very clean. I can easily snuff these all day. Perhaps there is just so much really good snuff about these days some seem to slip under the radar

Also worth a mention is that i have been told that if there is a particular pong you want in your nose they will create it for you as long as you buy i think its 1/2lb of snuff about £15 which is also very decent of them.

I had no idea about that, worth remembering - very elegant ‘a little something made up for me gawith, dont ya know’.

Yep, the High Mill that we got in the group buy was superb

The other SG dark snuffs are well worth a try as well - Black Rappee, Cob Dark, London Brown, Princes Dark, Scotch and Scotch Black. Agreed - the High Mill is one of the greats.

I might have to try these now. I wasn’t very interested just because I figured they would be somewhat like Poschl, but with all of the good reviews they are getting here, I will have to get at least one with my next order. Can anyone suggest the best one to try first? ~Snuffy

If it helps, of the dark snuffs I mentioned, the Black Rappee, Cob Dark, and Princes Dark are scented, the Black Rappee, London Brown, Scotch and Scotch Black are plain.

Snuffy these are very different from Poschl, take the Apricot the Poschl is Menthol with a hint of Apricot where as the SG is Apricot with a miniscule hint of menthol that just lifts it and makes the fruit feel fresh in the nose. So if you have not tried these you are in for a treat

I will definitely give them a shot then. Thanks for the info. ~Snuffy

This is another brand I haven’t tried many of, but the few I’ve had were some good snuffs. I’m not down on Poschl, but I’d say these are markedly better snuffs.

Poschl is alright every once in a while. I used to use Red Bull when I needed a good clearing out, but Toque menthol takes care of that now, and with less clogging later on. I do use Ozona Raspberry semi-often, just because the mix of menthol and raspberry is unlike others I have tried. The raspberry actually comes through, which is probably why I like it. ~Snuffy

The thing I don’t like about Poschl is the slingshot effect on my sinuses. There’s an initial clearing but I’m more packed up than ever half an hour later. That and some of the flavors aren’t as interesting as some of the other brands. Easy to take for beginners though and has probably recruited more snuffers than any other.

Poschel is the budwiser of snuff I guess. Not too bad not too great but easy to use.

My favorites from SG would be - Cob Dark Golden Glow Dr. Verey’s Plus Richt Kind Zip Black Coffee

That would make Bernard the Budvar…
