Does anyone know what the base tobacco is in Samuel Gawith Menthol Black? I’m thinking Scotch Black or Black Rappee.

I’ve had the menthol brown which I think is excellent. Not heard of menthol black but it sounds just up my strasse.

I had the 2 snuffs side by side, B Rappee & menthol black. They are identical in grind and moisture. Both excellent snuffs in my opinion. Never tried menthol brown, but bet its like KB w/menthol.

Gotta be BR base. I’ve been snuffing it this afternoon, and it looks and feels exactly the same. I’d like to get a big bulk tub of this, I really enjoy it.

I use mine as a mixer, a little goes a long way and balances overly dry snuff.

I’ll have to try that…as a mixer. Its great by itself for me. The menthol is there, but its not so strong as many of the other “true” menthols. I think I mainly just like the base flour, the excellent rappee with all its black, briney, tobacco-ey goodness.
