Samuel Gawith Kendal Brown Original vs. Kendal Brown Special

Kendal Brown Original:  Dark brown, rather coarse grind, medium to high moisture content.  Citrus (Bergamot & Orange) with subtle floral undertones.  Leathery tobacco notes dominate.  Moderate nicotine levels.  Easy to take due its coarse grind and moisture content, easily an all day snuff.  If not taken with care this can be a very messy snuff.

Kendal Brown Special:  Dark Brown, medium grind, medium to high moisture content.  The citrus really dominates this one, still bergamot and orange but in this one I also detect some lemon.  The floral undertones are even subtler on this one.  Same tobacco base but a little more overwhelmed by the scenting; not in a bad way but in comparison to the Original.  Not sure if it’s the finer grind or perhaps the percentage of stem material used, but the Special gives me more of a nicotine lift than does the Original.  The Special reminds me a lot of Viking Dark with a barely coarser grind and the added scents.  Perhaps not an all day snuff unless you really crave the extra nicotine kick, though the scenting would lend itself to all day use.
