samuel gawith black coffee tins

i bought a 25g tin of black coffee on the strength of a smaller tap box i bought, and got round to opening it this evening. it seems a hell of a lot nicer than the tapbox, even though i enjoyed that, it seems a lot richer and to have more flavour than the tapbox. is this a normal thing? is there variation in batches or are the tins just generally better? im absolutely loving it

Tap boxes are heinous, evil and will make you impotent. Do not use. It’s normal for the vac sealed tins to be fresher and richer. SG Black Coffee is one of my all day, every day snuffs so I buy it by the kilo once a year or so. Now we just need Wilsons to ditch those crappy little tins and switch to a Toque style tin or the SG vac tin. The vac tins can be a bitch to open until you figure it out but worth it in every respect. Cheers

I keep my empty toque tins and decant the tap boxes and vac tins into those.

I prefer the Mr Snuff Cafe Noir. Maybe supposed to be the same stuff but much less vanilla than I got in the SG. I like the Paul Gotard tap boxes also. Obvioulsy not vacume sealed but they seem well made and do a good job and handy to refill and re-use. Very easy to get the right amount out of them with the triangle shaped opening right at the sloped end and handy for the pocket. Think Stok use the same type also.

hahahaha English snuffs in tap boxes? That’s outrageous!
