I just added the following review to the Top 25 Snuff site. Hope it’s useful to someone. I recently decided to try a few more of the Samuel Gawith menthol snuffs as I do enjoy their Zip (a camphor-menthol blend). Among others I bought a 10g tin of B Menthol from My Smoking Shop. This is an old, yellow-labelled tin, pre-dating the tins with the maroon-brown label and the new plastic dispensers, so I was prepared for the contents to be less than fresh. I shouldn’t have worried. The snuff turned out to be fresh enough and very enjoyable. This is a medium grind, medium moisture snuff of a rich, reddish-brown colour (the colour in the picture isn’t quite right). The colour and grind remind me a lot of Samuel Gawith’s Blue Rest. The texture is light and fluffy as is often the case with Samuel Gawith snuffs and this is something I really like about them. The menthol in this snuff is very low key, though it is possible that with my tin being old stock, the menthol has dissipated somewhat over time. This is nothing unusual of course. The tobacco predominates and a very tasty tobacco it is too, quite possibly the same base tobacco as in Blue Crest. I reckon if you like Blue Crest you’ll probably enjoy B Menthol as well.
