They will Generally be higher in nicotine as well as a couple other psychoactive chemicals. It would be more helpful.

Just a thought, but have you tried (Swedish, of course) snus in addition to the snuff? If it’s cigs you’re trying to quit, though I’ve never smoked them, I understand from a co-worker that the physical ritual is as important as the actual nicotine intake. A portion of snus in your upper lip gives your mouth something to do, as well as a nice time-released hit of nicotine. Take a bump of snuff when the need strikes. This is what I do every work day.

I was heavily into pipe smoking before I discovered snuff and snus. Although I had no desire to quit smoking, I just lost all interest in it pretty quickly.

Hope you figure out the combination that works for you!

In my experience I have never had much success doing anything in order to stop smoking, I would just end up doing both with a higher tolerance to nicotine. I eventually had to quit cold turkey, and got into snuff much later. That is not to say that’s the only way or that you will have no luck, everybody’s different. My best advice would be to get your hands on as many different kinds as possible so you have a variety and don’t go back to a cigarette just because you’re burned out on whatever flavor you have. If you can make it three days without one you are in a much better place with it and have a much higher chance of success. Just hold out for those three days. Good luck, I am so incredibly grateful that I stopped smoking, it’s the best thing I’ve done for myself and my family, and I hope you are successful in your intentions to become smoke free.

I just realized you are the same person I just said pretty much the same thing to the other day, sorry about that.

Well, the chema you can buy locally is made from rustica and you already know that this product does not lack nicotine. If it’s too strong (too alkaline) either for nose or lip, you can cut it with those nasal snuffs you got. Or with a powder of pure cigar, starting with 1:1 mixing ratio. Just make sure you dry out that chema before grinding, and grind it fine and nice enough. Mix that chema with snuff very well, add some water (just 2-4 drops water per 1 gram mixture) if you prefer it medium-moist. The rustica from Toque or Indian rustica snuffs won’t be any stronger than the rustica your chema is made from (again, judging by what you have told about its effects).

Consider procuring a small sieve with a fine mesh (with an aperture size of 150 or 200 microns, i. e. the diameter of “eye” 0.15 mm or 0.2 mm) for sifting your ground chema and tobacco (cigar). Using such sieve will give you texture on a par to that of factory-made snuff.

Also, talk with chema sellers and ask them to sell you pure rustica leaf. Just a pure whole leaf. If you can get hold of it, you can make your own rustica snuff or chema, adjusting the strength to your liking, making it milder to lip or nose. It doesn’t have to be that insanely alkalinized (like the one sold on a street) to deliver some solid nicotine. pH of Toque USA W&H snuff (which contains some rustica) is rather low, about 8.5, and it still packs a punch!
