hi, I called us smokeless who makes rooster yesterday morning to see if I could get the phone number of the distributor to special order it locally. they would not give it to me. and they mentioned that ROOSTER was not made since 2009. so if you like it or want some. get it from MR SNUFF or whomever still has it.

H

I’m starting to think it won’t be long untill there are no more scotches…

C

I think they are referring to the moist snuff.  USST made a dip by the same name.

The person you talked to probably doesn’t even know that they make dry snuff.

N

I think cstokes4 is right, the last time a fellow member contacted a US snuff manufacturer (can’t remember which one) they had no idea that their company even made snuff.

S

I think it is the moist as well. One of my local shops gets Rooster for a local nursing home.

G

I believe you are right. i got it at the gas station and preferred it to skoal. then they said that they could no longer get it a few yrs back. yep, that gal doesnt have a clue as to what i meant even though I told her it was nasal snuff. rooster moist was excellent. Almost as good as Fred stoker from a tub. great chew that. Looks like i will have to go to the tocacco barn in Weston Missouri near kansas city and get a big bag of dried tobacco and make it using ball bearings in a tupperware. but it will be a pale imitation of the properly made snuff no doubt. My uncle lives in Phoenix city alabama, I bet they have it there.anyone down south see it at the stores? shipping costs and all eat you alive from overseas.

D

@graybeard19 I’m about 15min from Phenix City, AL. I live over in Auburn. I haven’t seen any Rooster at the store I usually go to, but I will certainly keep my eyes open for it.

S

I haven’t seen any here in the upstate of South Carolina either. I too will keep an eye out

S

The big containers are available to me locally. $15.00 + tax last  time I checked.

D

speaking of Rooster no longer being made, I was told by a lady at The Tobacco Shop in Columbus, Georgia, that RR Mills stopped making the large containers of the maccoboy. They’ll still be making the smaller 1.15oz containers. Don’t know if this is true or not.

C

According to Mr. Snuff all Maccoboy has been discontinued.

D

well guess it’s time to stock up.

K

If anyone finds a tin or tub of Maccoboy I would love to try it . I live in Tacoma Washington . Haven’t seen it in years . Was in every Fred Meyer store  Even the snuffs that were available have dwindled. Help an old man out .

K

O ya you should buy all the  Rooster  Your going to need from  Mr.Snuff while he still has it in stock !

S

We think the lady he talked to was referring to Rooster Moist Snuff or dip no longer being made. They quit making that several years ago.

You would be surprised how little the people in the industry know about dry snuff. It’s worse, if possible at the retail level. Invariably when I go to a tobacco shop and ask if the carry Swisher Starr Dry Snuff they will pull out a pack of Starr Chewing Tobacco.

B

Still get plenty of Rooster here in Charleston SC at any Food Lion.

S

All I have locally is Garrett scotch. So if anybody wants some, send me a PM. 1.5oz jars for…$5 something plus tax!

D

So sad to see any snuff discontinued…extra sad to hear about the best (imho, of course)…Maccoboy
