SG Kendal Brown Original and F&T Old Paris did nothing for me originally, but taken with a fresh nose as the first snuff of the day I can say I’m pleased I didn’t offload them. I get a nice, subtle orange zest scent from the KB and then pleasing tobacco. With Old Paris, a luxuriant scent all round. Further to that I get no backdrip from either. Only Packard Club to try again. I might get over the feeling I’m sticking Old Spice up the snozz.

This is worth replying to, don’t know how I missed it. SG Kendal Brown I loved straight off, but it did take a while to appreciate the scent of Old Paris, and then I loved it. Sadly, my new tin doesn’t seem as nice, but I heard here somewhere that Wilson’s had to change their supplier of Arrack of dates, so maybe that’s why it seems different. I think once this one is gone I’ll have to reorder and test out that theory. Just been trying my 6 Photo Medicated No 6, and Cheeta. I loved the zingy lime-ish scent of the No.6 first time I tried it, but, like the Cheeta it shot straight down my throat, so I left 'em alone for a while. Reading a thread here yesterday someone mentioned aiming the snuff at the top part of the nostrils rather than the lower part, so I tried it tonight with both, and the No. 6 is lovely like that. Powerful stuff, though! Still working on the cardboardy scent of the Cheeta… Royal George was another that took a bit of getting used to, I had a feeling I’d like it when I acclimatised myself to the complexity of the scent, so I persevered, and love it. If it was more of an SG grind I wouldn’t be able to put it down…

The first lesson I learned from this phenomenon was with Viking Blond, hated the scent when first opening the tin (I’m still not very keen on a new tin of VB) but as it ‘seasons’ it loses the weird smoked-biscuit smell and settles down to a very nice flavour. WoS Jasmine I bought after watching a review of it but I have gone back to this one from time to time and I still do not like it, not sure I ever will. Viking Brown and Dark are too full-on for me so far, I can only take one pinch of these once in a while. Abraxas snuffs I find very rich and they make me instantly very snotty but I’m persevering with St Casura which I think has a lovely flavour. I’m still struggling with Dragun Menthol though, I just don’t know what’s going on in my nose after taking this one.
