This is a double-bowl snuff spoon, designed to allow a bowl-full of snuff to go up both nostrils at once. I carved the spoon from beautiful redheart wood and this is its natural color and finish. This spoon was given a long and graceful handle to make it easier to use and maneuver. Double-bowl snuff spoons were very common among the snuff-taking Zulu tribes. The double-bowl on this spoon can be loaded from the smallest tin, smash-box, or snuff box. If you are interested in this spoon or others, visit my shop.

Nice work! Would love to have one half the size for pocket carry.

@Builtone.  I’ll be making some more double-bowl spoons.  I wanted this one to be sort of the delux, gentleman lounging about his house spoon.  But, I’ll be making some smaller ones.

No obligation to buy on your part, of course…but what sort (or color) of wood do you like?  Half the time I have trouble choosing…so post a type or color of wood, and you’ll save me some decision-making time.

I never use snuff spoons, but my compliments for your work.

Pretty elegant, I like a lot the wood chosen. Well done!

Thank you!

Some snuffs do really well off a spoon like Kendal Browns. I think it’s worthwhile to try snuffs you like and even those you don’t like so well in different ways- pinching, backhanding, spoon, etc. Sometimes it really changes the flavor for the better.

J

@Snuffbox, probably true – but in general, I think a spoon is best for flavour. I hardly ever use any other method these days.

I’ve got two of these spoons (single) and may have to try this double barreled version.  Even if you’re not a spooner you owe it to yourself to get one of these hand carved beauties.

My wife appropriated my zebrawood spoon, so I hid the ebony one and only Chloe the Maine Coon guard kitty knows where I put it.

J

@markstinson, I’ve been admiring the images of the spoons you’ve posted and visited your shop. I really like the singles. Ebony looks great, and so did that South-East Asian wood you used. I’m pretty tempted. Can you ship overseas? Indonesia?

Jeez, what am I doing. I lose spoons. Maybe this would be one I could keep at home, and use the stainless steel jobs for pocketses.

M

@JakartaBoy, I would ship you one in Indonesia.  I have International shipping prices on the items in the shop, which are probably too low.  But, I’m not really trying to make my living at this.
