Dear colleagues, are there any other collectors of empty snuff boxes among us? I’m getting ready to write the next chapter for my book (which I’ve been promising to finish for years, and there’s no end in sight anyway) and I’m wondering if the world’s largest collection is known? For years, I have proudly held the title of the Polish record holder in this category (with about 800 packages as of today), but since I became a snuff taker, I have not met anyone from another part of the world as devoted to collecting as Poles. Anyway, Poles in terms of snuff are record holders in several categories, including the largest number of people taking snuff in one place in time or even the largest snuffbox.
What about other categories. Does anyone have a larger collection? Or who has the largest group collection (and why Germany)? Who has used the most different kinds of snuff in his life? Maybe we can get some of these official and unofficial records together here.
