I have to hand: - Molens AO1860 - Poschl Redbull - Poschl Gletscher Prise - SG CCC - SG Yellow Crest Or any other suggestions I may have, I do have a few Toques. It’s not for me, I have my favourites haha.
WoS Cinnamon is gentle and very easy to use to get a beginner used to snuff.
any other suggestions? She cant stand cinnamon. sometimes i wonder why im here
As a noob myself, I’ve actually found GH Ambassador quite easy taking, and of course there’s the easy peasy ones like WoS Chocolate Orange (I could probably plunge face down in a trough of that stuff) or Rum and Raisin
Toque Spanish Gem is easy as flavorful.
have none of these :)) ill have to pick up an order soonish. :))
How about Dholakia Swiss Chocolate (once it’s aired for a while - I found it had a touch of farmyard about it for the first day) - that’s a very soft, easy to take grind. Or is she allergic to chocolate…

Swiss chocolate was the first snuff I tried and was hooked. Very easy to take for a virgin nose. And just an all around good snuff, for beginner or experienced snuffer.
I’d just read reviews and try what you like. And I wouldn’t listen too much to the idea that certain snuffs aren’t “beginner-friendly”, it’s not rocket-science, you lightly sniff it into your nose. When I first got my one friend into snuff his favorite was Bruton, which makes me cough like a pansy almost every time.
SG Celtic talisman is candy for the nose Sg Toffee is also sweet
Don’t forget the Samuel Gawith : Banana
@kurtsnose… Or any1… Never had SG BANANA … Just thought of missing it with a schmalzer for the hell of it… Would the grinds work together? I could imagine, icing that with sudfrucht … As if sudfrucht isn’t sweet enough
Samuel Gawith : Banana mixes very well with Sudfrucht but dosn’t add much sweetness, I like to use Swisher : Dixie to add sweetness to Sudfrucht .@AANYCAARDS the grind is nice . (O ya I . M . O .)
Pretty much any Wilsons Of Sharrow besides the toast are great for beginners. Remembering back I think Crumbs of Comfort was my first snuff. They have some nice ones but I havent found a WOS that i could make my daily. Even though theyre easy to take the high nic of the not so easy ones have kept me coming back. Toque quit was especially nice when first starting out and still love it.
Is the Molens AO1860 as coarse as grind as the others? I feel that in the first trys, grind is everything. Fine grinds are still hard for me to this day.

Yeah, I’ve cut my teeth (so to speak) with WoS stuff, and found it very easy going on the whole. I’ve found Jasmine is something I could use as an all-dayer, and I’d have no probs using Tom Buck frequently either, but I would want a little “something” to break the day up a little
Abraxas Cafe 11 But that would spoil their nose for all the inferior snuff
Zwiefacher is a great beginner’s snuff.
The Poschl’s you picked were where I started. Also McCrystals O&G.
Toque almond toast, SG Rasberry, WOS lemon toast , MAKLA Neffa Ifrikia … All on the night stand…zzzzzz

SORRY!! Meant to put the Above in WHATS IN YOUR NOSE But all of these have a great aroma and easy to take for a newbie
Toque Camphor & Clove Excellent flavour and very easy to take
I agree about the standard WoS grind being easy to take - I would add Jockey Club to the list of ones to try. Toque Pomegranate or Raspberry might make good introductions, too.
For a starter I would suggest WoS Crumbs of Comfort
Gawith Apricot. Nothing special, but it won’t discourage anyone.
Agree with @Viertel - Pöschl’s “Gawith Apricot” is a fairly innocuous, but pleasant enough and painless introduction to our noble pleasure. The beginner could also try Wilsons of Sharrow Jockey Club, Samuel Gawith’s Peach, Raspberry or Banana, or (if they like something highly perfumed) Fribourg & Treyer’s French Carotte or Samuel Gawith’s Otterhound. A number of the other more “fruity” blends might also suit. If the beginner really wants to try a “classic” to suit most tastes, then the best SP I have ever found is still Wilsons of Sharrow Best SP - after around 275 years, they have to have got it right!
If the beginner in question likes tobacco in its own right he/she should certainly try the plain Samuel Gawiths (SP Scotch, Scotch Black, Kendal Brown, Viking Dark etc.) and German snuffs (Offenbacher Cardinal, Gekachelter Virginie), don’t see any good reason for beginners to limit themselves to heavily scented stuff. The ones I mention, among many others too, are coarse and moist without much added scent (a hint of bergamot in the Kendal and SP Scotch but it’s mostly tobacco).
ha, i had the scotch black, its smelled stronger of added smoke than normal scotches. didnt get on with it, and i like smoke/tobacco. her first snuff was an accidental GH cherry. funny, since my first snuff was GH cherry too. now shes nicked a box of gletscher prise.
Zwiefacher is a great beginner’s snuff.
I started with Packard’s Club and things have only become better ever since as i have tried new ones…
Silver Dollar Vanilla … there’s hardly a burn and it’s like your senses being filled with Vanilla . Super easy to take . I do like the containers they come in also
First snuff I ever bought was American Dental Sweet. Extremely fine and dry and burns the throat like a mother… apparently not for beginners but was love at first sniff and still one of my all-time favs. I mix it with many other snuffs. Just dive in!
I started with 6P Cheetah, which had me buzzed, sick to the stomach, and sneezing like hay fever in December. Also, I didn’t know how to pinch and was snorting(and wasting!) it. Toque is a wonderful start for beginners, because of the medium fine grind and moisture levels. Quit, Spanish Gem, or Original would be my bet. Wilsons of Sharrow is another fine example because of their blend of flour and moisture. Extremely easy to partake, mild in the vitamin N, but quite enjoyable. Apricot, Cherry, or Original. Don’t start them on something coarse, heavily scented, or Superman strong. A friend once gave a girl a pinch of my White Elephant and she spent 20 minutes in the bathroom. He forgot to show her how, so she snorted a HUGE amount.
These type of questions should have its own pinned thread, for newbies. At the end of the day everyone is going to recommend everything and really you have to go it alone anyways.
As much as I’m not a fan of them, I think poschl are good for newbies. As much as Toque is my favourite brand I don’t think it’s the best newbie brand. WoS offer many great newbie-friendly snuffs. SG are too hit and miss, esp if a newbie falls for a tap-box. McC’s O&G I would definitely recommend. Scotches are too tough for most newbies. As are many traditional Indian snuffs.
@SnuffySnuff I had one pinch from a SG tap box and I didn’t order anything else from their lineup for a full 2 years. Those specific tap boxes are ruinous for their snuffs. It was Lavender Dark and it had dried into hard little beads by the time it arrived in my mail. I was especially miffed as the scent was still there and I wanted at it.
