It may feel dismissive and maybe less than helpful to hear something like “Everybody’s different. Just try everything.” but unfortunately I don’t think there’s any way around this. With snuff more than other indulgences I think there’s more than just preference involved. The anatomy of your nose will determine whether you work well with course or fine, powdery grinds or dry or moist. I suspect biochemistry may play a role in why some toppings agree with some and disgust others in the same way that some people think cilantro tastes like soap or dirt.
It seems like a lot of people can’t stand Magnet Menthol, and I love it. 6 Photo Cheetah is a globally popular Indian white snuff, and it’s the only white I’ve tried and don’t like. The initial hit seems nice, but in a minute or two I keep noticing this occasional, faint scent of vomit that has me checking my shoes and clothes and searching the room. Every time I’ve tried it this happens. I’ve never seen anyone else comment that they’ve had this experience.
When I first got serious about snuff I ordered a lot of smaller tins that just wouldn’t take with me, and they’re still taking up space in a cedar box in a drawer years later.
My advice for what it’s worth: Check out the snuff types category to find out what’s out there, then spend some time reading reviews and pick a sample or two from each category that is well like by fans of tthat type. I wouldn’t think there is anything to avoid necessarily. Consider this an initial investment of time and money. The return will be that once you find your staples you can order larger amounts that will last a long time and save a lot of money over any other tobacco habit you could choose.
Welcome to world of snuff, congratulations on your choice to explore it, and enjoy the exploration.

Edit: Please don’t let me deter you from trying Cheetah. Most folks report that it’s amazing. I think it’s just me. Just illustrating how different individual experience can be.

Some of the snuffs that I would recommend for a real wide variety of differences:

Non menthol

McChrystals SP or Gawith and Hoggarth SP
Taxi Red
Sir Walter Scott Lundy Foot or Fribourg and Treyer HDT
M&W Jocks Choice
6 Photo Cheetah (my most commonly used snuff)
Toque Ambrosia

Menthol from weakest to strongest medication

Bernard Zwiefacher
Viking ISS
Gletcherprise
McChrystal’s O&G
Hedges L260

Was I off topic by not offering actual recommendations? Maybe. @FLA nice list. Couple there I still need to try.

I can’t help much with SP’s. I’ve tried some and went in another direction.

For medicated I’ll throw out Dholakhia Medicated No. 10 as a decent camphor forward alternative. It’s easy to take on a sore nose or sinus issues.

Also Toque USA Whiskey and Honey is a popular Rustica base.
If you want to try an unscented Indian white, White Elephant and Dholakhia White are top of the range, but they can be hard to find in stock. Janta White Horse is a fine example and very affordable.

Gletscherprise is a great menthol, but kind of one dimensional on its own. I like to use it to chase strong, dry tobacco snuffs to moisten the nostrils and aid absorption.
