I surprised myself by loving Toque Violet. I only bought it as part of a sampler pack out of a sense that I should try a floral. But I loved it, my favourite scented Toque apart from Spanish Gem. Funny, I can’t stand floral perfumes, on women or anywhere. But there you go. So, what other florals would you recommend? Don’t have to be Toque, I’m happy to hear about other makers’ products. What are the benchmarks in this genre?
F&T Bureau is really nice though I haven’t had it in a good while. F&T Santo Domingo is good if you like heavy fermented tobacco; it has light violet scenting but it’s not really a fullblown floral, you just might want to check it out.
My favourite floral is Snuff Store Golden Pinch but it isn’t made anymore :((
Golden Pinch was an alternate name for Smith’s Golden Cardinal, which was made for them by SG. SG’s Bouquet is the same snuff, give it a go! Its an outstanding floral. Other florals I’d recommend: F&T Bordeaux, Morlaix, Macuba, Morocco; McChrystal’s Violet; WoS Rose Wallflower, Carnation GH Ambassador, Carnation, English Rose, Fleurette, Lakeland, Mitchells, Western Glory, Wallflower De Kralingse Macuba, Bon Bon I’d avoid others from mentioned companies at first. Particularly avoid the SG florals other than the excellent Bouquet. Have fun exploring!
@Xander DeKralingse’s BonBon is classified as a floral? Huh I have only ever gotten a candy scent from it, who knew?
SG Lavender Dark is one of my favorites. Gold Mull is a real love it or hate it peppermint/floral melange…
I haven’t been a big fan of florals either but I recently got some F&T Princes Special out of curiosity and I really like it. It might be worth a try for you, I think there is some violet in it but it’s not the major player.
I really liked Qsnuff jasmine. Had just a hint of menthol on a dark strong tobacco base and the scent just kept on and on in a good way.
I’m partial to Wilson’s of Sharrow Rose of Sharrow, wonderful Rose scent, fairly decent nicotine. (This opinion tendered by a nonsmoker, your results may vary.)
I haven’t tried very many floral scents, but I can tell you that neither I nor my cousin enjoyed Toque Rose. It smelled exactly like Dove soap to me. Maybe to someone else it would be pleasant, but it was just too strong of a psychological association with the guest bathroom soap at my grandmother’s house.
SG’s Bouquet has been nice for the first try here. Not overly done. Use WoS Princes daily and guess that is considered a floral although I see it as more of a rappee;
