I’m pretty new to snuff, but find I’m falling in love quickly. Over the last few months I have purchased several dozen that I don’t use because they are too strong, coarse or dry. Thanks to a post by basement_shaman, I now know how to moisten the dry snuff, which is a great help. I was wondering if you could share recommendations of a light snuff to dilute the ones I find too strong? I really enjoy the fruit flavors, tiger guarana, vanilla (but have not found a truly good one yet), braniff whiskey, irish delight. On a side note I really love pure maple syrup and if anyone has a recommendation for a great snuff I will send you virtual hugs
Toque has several fruity blends that I find very mild…also Spanish Gem is nice one that I mix sometimes.
Try Viking Blonde as a base to those others you find difficult to take but still enjoy if only you could take them easily. Old Mill Javelin is is slightly spearmint forward, but so much more going on with both chocolate and vanilla hints…kind of sweet like maple syrup.

I don’t know where you live but stay clear of Samuel Gawith 10 gram sneeze boxes they come dried out and the scent is faded.
41 Photo yellow lily natural would make a good mixer, I find it has very light tobacco scent. I don’t find it strong but I am the wrong person to ask about nicotine levels. I use strong fine snuff most of the waking hours. I should also add it a cream color snuff dry and fine.
Fribourg & Treyer High Dry Toast, I think it be sacrilege to use as a mixer. but it an excellent snuff with a creamy buttery feel. I find comforting on it’s own. Toast’s have a small learning curve but can be conquered in a short time.
Samuel Gawiths make some plain tobacco snuffs that are moist ,Black Rappee also smokey, London Brown, Scotch Black, Pick one they are about the same for a newcomer .Unless you have one of those noses made for the perfume industry and can pick out every delicate scent.
I agree with basement_shaman’s suggestions. Old Mill makes a cherry snuff, Moulin Rouge, that is truly wonderful if you like that scent, easy to take and not too strong. It doesn’t have that artificial flavor miasma that other cherry snuffs present. Yellow Lilly would make a good mixer for toning down snuff you find too strong, quite mild, though it is quite finely ground.
I don’t know if this is still in the works but chef says Aug/ Sept http://snuffhouse.com/discussion/10101/natural-maple-syrup-snuff#latest
Roderick at Toque makes a Natural snuff - his base snuff with no added scent - that makes a good mixer. He has also supplied me with the unflavoured base he uses in his oiled snuffs, which I have used to good effect to tame Poschl menthols. Wilsons of Sharrow also do a Natural snuff which might be worth a try, especially if you are able to order it from them direct.
