Recommendation Requested for Sandalwood or Frankincense Nasal Snuff

Hello, My first post. I am new to using snuff and I do not know anyone who uses it. So I thought I was all alone until I stumbled across this forum. I bought a can of Bruton Scotch snuff at a local tobacco shop (along with a few others) and I like Bruton the best. I ordered a few others online, but I did not care for the moist and granular ones. I am looking for a snuff with the same consistency as Bruton Scotch snuff (dry and finely ground) with a sandalwood or frankincense essence. While searching the web, I came across a few: Gawith Hoggarth Sandalwood Fribourg & Treyer French Carotte Wilsons Sandalwood QSnuff Sandalwood As I mentioned, I prefer a finely ground and dry snuff. If someone could please recommend such a snuff, I would be grateful. Thank you, tobaccophile

Of those, I’ve only tried the French Carotte, and while it does have an amazing fragrance, it’s not fine and dry like Bruton. It is dark and rich and somewhat moist.

You may want to give Dholakia Ganga a try? It has Sandalwood, Rose, and Frankincense and is a medium/dry moisture with a fine grind. It has a good nicotine hit and a strong scent. It’s not for everyone, but I enjoy it. I’m yet to find a snuff with only sandalwood and frankincense. The WoS sandalwood is pretty good, but is medium across the board.

The Qsnuff Sandalwood is very good. It is made by Dholakia and I do think the Indians do the exotic scents very well for the most part.

Thank you for your suggestions. Dholakia sounds interesting - at least from the product description. I am an avid pipe smoker and Gawith & Hoggarth produces some of my favorite smokes. Gawith & Hoggarth produces the finest pipe smoking blends. How is G & H in regards to their snuff?

I’ve only tried a few of the Gawith & Hoggarth snuffs and haven’t reordered. They make good tobacco products and have a nice range, but I feel there are a number of other snuff manufacturers out there that are better. They’re towards the bottom of my list for UK manufacturers.

Go to local head shop, buy some sandalwood incense, or whatever scent you like, break or cut off a piece or two, place inside your Bruton, leave overnight. In the morning, you’ll have a nicely scented snuff. I have done this many times, it works well. At the bottom of the incense tubes or bags, there is usually some fine powder residue. You can shake it out and add it to your snuff. I have never posted about this before, but its a good method if you can’t seem to find the exact incense type scent you’re looking for.
