There’s no point in having half a dozen of these running at the same time, so no more will be created. We will use the single one that I have kept open as the runnuing thread for this discussion.

I guess we should close this one then… : )

K

Should I store my snuff in a jar made of diamond placed inside a humidor that I keep in the fridge? And will this storage method become illegal under PACT?

W

Does your chewing gum lose its flavor on the bedpost over night?

J

What is PACT anyway?

I learned a long time ago that on this forum, many members don’t like it if you start a new thread when one already exists on the same subject. Maybe it’s a matter of bandwidth. I tend to sometimes start new threads on existing topics because after about 4 posts, many threads that deal with something specific like “Wilson’s of Sharrow Menthol Plus” go off on tangents that have nothing to do with the original topic, and resurrecting a 2 year old thread with 40 posts, only a few of which are related to the matter listed in the topic area, seems messy to me. But it’s not my forum. As far as this issue goes, it’s of great concern to me, but many members on this and other forums seem to consider it objectionable to continually talk about it, especially if your discussion conveys a sense of personal anguish. I’m not as able to remain aloof from things as most people. However, they probably have a point, in light of how much speculative misinformation has been generated, not least by me (although certainly not intentionally). I would ask for consideration, however: people who post on internet forums about something obscure like snuff have a passion for it, and something that threatens to disrupt an important part of a person’s life–no matter how trivial it might seem to others–can be disturbing. I don’t know anyone personally who really cares about this issue, so I post about it here, or at least I used to.

While this is an “important” issue, I do not think it warrants a new thread every time somthing happens, it’s a waste of bandwith.

S

But yet threads with 2000+ replies about what you happen to have last put in your nose isn’t “a waste of bandwidth”?

The Pact Act passed the House yesterday afternoon. It is now on its way to Obama. The House passed it, 387 - 25. Full voting details here: http://politics.nytimes.com/congress/votes/111/house/2/124

I’m not stopping the discussion, just tidying it up a bit, centralising it so that its in one place and nothing missed. No doubt that will offend someone though…just about everything does for some people.
