Does any of you know how to contact Rajek personally? A week ago I place a rather expensive order with him, and have mailed him 3 times through the contact form for a confirmation - but he ignores my emails, and I haven’t received my order either. Usually mail from Germany to Denmark is only a couple of days. Does any one know how to get in touch with Rajek?
I just received an order from Rajeks (via dutsche post from DE to USA) which took 27 days for delivery. It appeared to have been opened by customs or somesuch. I was getting quite worried that it wouldn’t arrive at all. I’d suggest if you’re ordering from the USA then be patient. Nicotinerush seems to be carrying more and more of the hard to find EU snuffs and postage is super-quick within the USA. Hopefully he’ll start carrying Bernards Civette Extrafein and Parisier No.2 as they’re quite wonderful.
I have placed two orders with Rajeks and both took a very long time to arrive around three weeks but i did get what i ordered, its frustrating but i guess they just do things at a more sedate pace. As long as your order shows on the system you will get it eventually. I hope this puts your mind at ease i was quite stressed about my orders but i got them in the end.
Deutsche Post is terrible. They just shut down a bunch of offices.
In Rajeks defense the goods were well packed, fresh, and did arrive eventually. I think Deutsche Post may be the problem. I’ve had much more luck ordering from the UK to USA, and from the USA and UK to Australia. Ordering within the EU I imagine is far more prompt and efficient. When I queried Rajeks about the status of my order I got a reply saying my order had gone out, so they do communicate. Rajeks may not be the winner on postage but they certainly carry an exhaustive range of products. Despite the slow postage I’ll be ordering from them again when I wish to purchase some of the more obscure tobacco products. I’ll certainly be ordering from Rajeks if I wish to buy gift snuff - they stock proper gift hampers with snuffs, bottles and hankies included. Sweet! For everyday orders however I’ll be sticking to Nicotinerush which is prompt and has a reasonable range. I’ve tried ordering from www.snuffstore.co.uk too, but could never get through their shopping cart with my credit card. (A friend’s card worked, but it’s quite an inconvenience.) Different snuff stores for different orders for me.
@ Viking - Did you pay by Paypal as this caused me some problems where i had paid for my goods but the order did not show up on the website under my account details and then i did not get a response from rajeks so started a dispute procedure via Paypal and only then did Rajeks get back to me. As long as the order shows up under your account details with them you will be fine but if like with me there is no record of the order but you have paid then you have problems.
Pavig - yes their selection is excellent, which is also why I ordered from them. Last time I ordered from them, there were no problems. And no - they don’t communicate! I wrote three or four messages through their own system - absolutely no reply! Mailing within the EU is a varied experience to say the least! Some countries (Ireland) put an additional VAT on everything, some countries notoriously lose your parcels, and some countries deliver the next day! The EU is not like the US made up from states, but from countries with extremely different cultures and traditions. When I order from Tom, my order usually arrives within ca 10 days, which is not bad, and from the UK to Denmark it is about 5 days, which is not impressing actually. Big Al - yes I paid via PayPal, and the amount shows on my bank statement. I didn’t see the “my order” option under “my account” - will check it out right away! Thanks for the tip!
Big Al - aha - yes I found the info - it does say “shipped” for my order placed on August 10th! Wonder if the shipment went out by donkey mail? He he.
Oh my! They spent SEVEN days processing my order after withdrawing the money from my account!! It only went out on the 17th!! This is why communication is a key word! I really think that when there is a week’s delay in shipping time, you should let your customers know! Whether something is not in stock or whatever!!! This is really not good enough!
@Viking: The same thing happened to me, but my order did arrive without any problems. I’ve never had an issue with Stefan’s communication.
cstokes4 - well,wish I could say the same.
It took three weeks for both my orders to arrive and communication was very poor, shipping was expensive but the snuff was cheap and a signature is required upon receipt so somebody has to be at home. Fortunately the snuff was good and it was the only place i could get hold of what i wanted. All in all the service could be improved but i would order from Rajeks again because as long as you know what to expect its ok. I suppose i am just used to the luxury of ordering Toque in the morning and getting it the next day. A part of me wants to moan about the service from Rajeks but another part of me is aware that in this day and age it is all too easy to expect instant gratification all of the time. I really do sympathise with Viking because i felt exactly the same but upon reflection if something is worth having its also worth waiting for. I really did find ordering from Rajeks tested my patience it would really help if the shipping estimates on the site were correct if you knew at the outset it would take 21 days for delivery the whole process would be a lot less stressful.
Annoying, maybe the reason is the holiday season in germany… good thing is, you will get your goods 100% sure. Its a very well known and serious shop.
Big Al - I ordered from Rajeks before, and it didn’t take this long! Normally I’m used to waiting maybe a week every time I order, since the nearest dealer is in England. But apparently my whining helped, because my order arrived today - 12 days on the donkey mail express from Bavaria :o))) Awesome stuff it is, I got Bernard’s Gekachelte Virginia, Sternecker Fresko, and Taxi Blue. BGV is probably one of the best snuffs I’ve ever tried! Wonderful dark, rich, and earthy tobacco! Will definitely use this fast. Sternecker I did not try yet. I took one pinch of Taxi, and was utterly disgusted! I like NTSU, but this stuff is revolting. Smells like the monkeys’ cage in Zoo, and looks like cow dung. In the nose it feels like you stuck your head in a manure container! No offense to those of you who likes this snuff, tastes differ of course. But I will give this away - will not pinch manure again. :o) Ha ha. I also received a 250g container of Wilsons Brunswick. This is really nice. Very like Princes, but a bit more “tobaccish” and less “Rosy” :o) I have a hard time pinching moist snuff, but I really like them in between my Scotch and Toasts. So - I’ll probably have to order from Rajeks again to get my BGV… Lord grant me patience :o) ha ha ha.
Big Al - you were right! The Sternecker Fresko was VERY much worth while waiting for! What an awesome snuff! I have to admit that I begin liking Schmalzlers more and more. Especially the non-fruity varities. Perlesreuchter was what convinced me, and Gekachelte Virginia and Sternecker Fresko has certainly won me over completely!
Viking, I’m glad you got your order. Gekachelte Virginia is indeed a fantastic snuff. I wish it were more widely available. I’m surprised that you didn’t like the Taxi since you love Ntsu. I find them to be birds of a feather. I urge you to hold on to it and see if it grows on you. You might want to give it an airing out. When I first got mine, I was very wary of it, but now I love it! I usually have a bing pinch of one of the Taxis or Ntsu once every day when I want a big buzz. One trick is not to try and sniff it, its just too heavy and you’ll get lots of ammonia vapor trying. I just take a pinch and push it in my nostril. Usually 2-3 pinches per nostril and I’m feeling good for awhile.
Viking - Pleased you have received your order, the Gekachelte Virginia is a personal favourite of mine and i have stocked up on it, thats how i came to place the second order with Rajeks as i only got 50gs in the first order. I agree with you on the Taxi Blue being like manure the only Taxi snuff i do like from time to time is the Spearmint which is quite refreshing. I have not got into the Sternecker snuffs yet but i have sampled them and i prefer the two Fresko snuffs to the Straubinger. For my next purchase i have my eye on 250g Samuel Gawith Apple snuff about which i have heard many good things.
