Maccaboy, unlike most American snuffs, is a moist snuff. I would not buy an old bottle to use. It will be dried out.

I’ve gotten several vintage Maccoboys on ebay. 2 out of three are dried out, as Nachman says, but some can be good if they are sealed well. They can be rehydrated also, but its not going to be anything like fresh, but they will be ok. The seller seems to think that the cap on this one is unusual, but its not. Its quite similar to the modern cap. He claims to know of screw-top ones, but I do not. At least its priced quite fairly, and the shipping is reasonable too, so its only a minimal gamble on your part.

Cool. I bid $2 and with shipping it should be $5.50. The only problem I see with it is it’s one of those 5 oz. I’ve been wanting to try Maccoboy for a while and the ones on Mr. Snuff are too rich for my blood. I hope this is ok.
