I’ve heard very little about this brand and haven’t tried any of their products myself, but I noticed their Natural is on order and one review said its similar to Grunt. I then read a review of their apricot that said it has very little menthol and the flavor sounded similar to RnR to me. I’m wondering a few things about them like if they’re a contract brand, if they deliver a lot of nicotine, and if the company is almost written off just by the name. Has anyone tried their snuffs and found a favorite? I don’t know why my curiosity just got sparked but any info or insight would be great.

M

I think they’re rather decent and overlooked. I prefer the ice cool over Dholakia Medicated as to me it’s not as “funky”. The sandalwood is rather good and definitely uses real sandalwood oil(I think it’s claimed to be sustainably farmed). The Irish Coffee was a pleasant surprise to me, as it could have been more sickly sweet. The apricot and jasmine are more intense than many others on the market, and I’m a bit on the fence with those two, but I’d think the jasmine would remind some of a shampoo-not necessarily a bad thing.

T

I suppose its easy to overlook a company that makes decent, albeit unoriginal snuff. Might have to try the apricot or Irish cofee sometime.

T

Just checked on snuff wiki and found out it is a contract brand of dholakia. I don’t think it’s the same snuff as FUBAR’s though.

M

I’ve had the FUBARS except for the Shot of Rum, and I think all QWS except for the Smoker’s Blend. I would say they are distinctly different base tobaccos, and I think the QWS Ice Cool has more menthol than the FUBAR Medic.

T

Well i’m glad to have all those questions cleared up. Their natural must be pretty popular if it’s sold out on Mr Snuff. I wonder why we haven’t heard more about it. Unless it only sold out while grunt or quit wasn’t available and hasn’t been restocked.

M

I’d just expect it to be pretty close to some of Dholakia’s main label stuff. Seriously though, the sandalwood is imo a sleeper gem, if memory serves it’s much like Paul Gotard’s Sandal.

As said, all Dholakia. If you like a flavour in one brand you might well find it repeated somewhere else in the range, wow, rockit etc.

M

Very true, I’m just thinking about, for example, the difference between Sparrow Cool and Dholakia Medicated. A big difference to my nose.

So, would one be able to assume similar coarseness and moisture content from the Q line to the FUBAR line?
Or is there a great deal of fluctuation?

M

I think the QWS is coarser than the FUBAR, but not really that coarse. The QWS probably has equal or greater moisture than FUBAR. I can’t say much about batch to batch variation.

J

QWS Natural is a very good snuff.

It is very similar to FUBAR Grunt, except it lacks the *I think Musk* that Mr. Snuff revealed that the sweet note in Grunt is.

They do make good stuff. It is a little different from FUBAR too. I initially overlooked them because of the whole gimmicky quit smoking vibe.

T

Funny how dholakia can’t seem to market snuff as well as they make it. It’s like the ones made specifically for the American market ( pretty much all of them) are written off as tacky or gimicky although from what I’ve read for the most part they’re good snuffs. I’ve only tried Ganga and RnR and now have 25 g of grunt on the way.

A

I would put fubar shot o’ rum in the top 3 of my all time favourite snuffs. They do make good snuff, but a lot of the old firms are a bit clueless about marketing. Look at dear old Granny Wilsons or Great-aunt Gawith’s websites; they don’t exactly sparkle with innovation.

B

You can’t judge how well a snuff sells based on this website. For a long while you’d believe that no one ever bought much poschel if you followed this site. Not only is it clear these snuffs sell even if it takes a while for us list memebers to get onboard. It’s clear they are well marketed too in the fact that they know who they’re shooting for and from the reviews I’ve read they’ve hit that market well. Yes I’am talking about temptation and wow and she and qws and fubar. Interestingily it’s like they’ve got several markets covered.

T

I’m personally guilty of writing many of them off, especially all their indian brands geared toward Americans with flavors like apple pie. I still have so much to try, even though my friends who partake in snuff with me say my collection is huge, I’d say I’m off to a good start but it’s really not huge. ( that part after the comma could go on the out of context quote page)

B

yeah I haven’t tried any of them. I’am going to try everything but I’am not in a hurry to do so. I enjoy the hobby to much to treat it like a race. Then again I think these are more marketed not to the seasoned snuffer but as a way to get someone introduced. To appeal to untapped markets.

T

I just tried grunt and I’m reminded of rockit naked, although the grunt is coarser for one thing.

Seriously, the Sandalwood, nice
