When shipping from the Us to UK, what should I call it on the customs paper? No value and a gift?

Label it as a gift, no value and just put “snuff” on the description.

Hmm… never shipped chew. If it’s dip then snuff would work. I don’t think they even look at it.

I would write snuff. Technically that is the correct name, is it not? Plus, you run a lower risk of someone opening it for “a free can of skoal.” I’m sure this is hours too late, but for whoever digs this up in two years.

I’ve sent and recieved snuff from all over the place without problems. When shipping out of the UK I just put ‘Snuff - gift’ on the package and when someone sends it to me its got more or less the same thing on it as a rule. As said, I don’t think small packages are even looked at due to the volume of mail.

Thanks, fellows Yes, I put ‘Snuff’ and then proceeded to have a ‘discussion’ with the postwoman on what snuff is and why I was putting no value on the package. “Why would you send something that has no value?” I finally satisfied her by telling her that the box cost $2, so put $2 as the value! Damn, some folks love to give grief as a ‘public service’…

I mailed a slip of paper that was insured for $1000 once. And no, it wasn’t blotter acid. Strange what values people place on things.
