Hello everybody First, please exucuse my english wich is very bad. I’m french and I have discovered snuff since 2 months. I haven’t found a lot of informations in the french websites because snuff-taking is very rare in France. This website is the most completed I have found about the subject. It is not possible to found industrials snuffs in my country so I make my own snuff. But I need recipes and in this site you use a more complicate vocabulary for me. Can you resume the principals recipes for me please? (menthol snuff for exemple). Thank you very much. Please express your method with very simples words.

Bienvenue au Snuffhouse! I am sure there are many members who will help you with your recipes. It is sad that snuff is no longer produced on an industrial scale in France. An answer to your question: ‘Menthol snuff’ is simply tobacco with menthol crystals added to it (http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menthol). Pure menthol is very powerful, so only a small amount is added. I am sure another member will be able to tell you the exact proportions.

Salut depuis le Québec! Je pense que la production de tabac a priser est a la fois un art et une science. Tu dois experimenter beaucoup. La bonne nouvelle c’est que tu obtiendras facilement un produit acceptable seulement en réduisant en poudre du tabac entier et en y ajoutant une eau avec un PH ajusté (basique). La mauvaise, c’est que si tu veux vraiment atteindre le sommet avec un produit de très bonne qualité, tu devras y consacrer bien du temps. Ce qui peut être un hobby fantastique, en supposant que tu aies du temps en abondance… Les recettes sont en général des secrets biens gardés, mais tu pourras trouver ici de bons trucs et les principes de base pour débuter. Welcome to the second Frenchman to ever post on this board in all the time it has existed. The first one was only last week! When it rains it pours, it seems. My recommendation is not to try making your own until you are familiar with the many styles of snuff. Snuff may be difficult to find in France, but it is equally dificult in most other places also. You will find the shops that advertise on the right side of the page all ship to France and come highly recommended.

You should look at Mr.Snuff or Snuffstore, both will sell you finest snuff and ship it to France.

@Kulls Je suis loin d’être un expert. Mais pour réduire en poudre, tu dois enlever le plus d’humidité possible, donc faire sécher complètement. Une fois réduit, tu ajustes le taux d’humidité en ajoutant de l’eau dans laquelle tu as diluée un peu de bicarbonate de soude. Utilise de préférence de l’eau distillée, sinon de l’eau bouillie et refroidie. Tu l’ajoutes au tabac et tu laisses reposer dans un contenant hermétique pour quelques jours, en brassant quelquefois en cours de processus. Expérimente en essayant différentes quantités dans plusieurs petits échantillons d’une quinzaine de grammes chacun. Tu trouveras la combinaison gagnante. Tu peux aussi ré-humidifier le tabac avec de la glycérine, a la manière allemande.

Obviously,because there are many reférences to France in british snuff, it has desappeare of ours lands always in fight whith all mental extended products,without distinction in many bias main ways. Anyway there is a good mean to obtains best snuffs,not expansive,buying on line. You should try mr snuff to put an eye…
