i was wondering if anyone out there has had the wilson of sharrow version of Princes? if so could they give me some info on it. what is it like compard to the F&T version? any opinions would be very helpful.
I’ve never tried Prince’s but I believe Wilsons make F&T snuffs so I’m guessing not much difference.
Wilsons Princes is about the only moist snuff that I can take. It’s floral, but subtle, and you can take it great amounts without sneezing or eyes watering. I like it a lot really!
In a range dominated by the same base but flavoured in different ways Princes provides genuine variation. It is black and sticky. It smells a little like wood furniture polish from the tin. Inhaled the aroma is very different. The geranium is pleasant but not overpowering at all. It is, in my opinion, more like the original Fribourg & Treyer Princes. Bordeaux can be made by mixing in a little S.P making the texture easier to handle and inhale. Fribourg & Treyer’s Bordeaux was made using this simple mix with their own S.P which is no longer available. Purchased direct from Wilsons it is also very cheap compared to the F&T range. A small sample tin is only eighty-nine pence. A little perseverance might be required, but for users who suffer from congestion this snuff MIGHT make life easier on the nose despite the texture. In my experience it can be taken in much larger quantities than fine dry snuff.
