already placed an order, can’t wait!

I will try to review PVT 2015, but afraid it will fall short of how amazing it really is. It’s a beautiful brown hue, like a deep camel hair, feels like suede to the touch, is rich and luscious, stays in the nose perfectly. There is a rye with caraway seed quality, but that doesn’t really do it justice either, because a sweetness comes in at the end that lingers beautifully. Holy shit, I’m stunned.

New alder sheets arrived this morning, without slivers, shards and other unpleasant things.  Wood liners available:
Alder

Cedar

Cherry

Maple

Looking for oak, hickory and other fruit and hardwood papers.  Any ideas gladly welcomed.

Pure Virginia Goodness! It’s nutty, smooth and delicious. Not just all day snuff- all week Damn this is great snuff

For sure going to include this in my next order from Old Mill.

This is a must have. Wish I could describe scents better but it’s just not in my abilities. All I can say is that this (as any toasts I’ve tried from the chef) will be used up far to quickly.

On my next order! Any snuffer who likes toasts of any kind who takes his education from the Chef will find himself bowing to a new Sensei. So many other companies are mere manufacturers. Daniel is in a different league. Had he lived in the time of George IV or Charlotte, he’d have been their Merlin, and been offered his weight in gold to divulge his secrets. The master alchemist, with such a head full of ideas. We are fortunate to have access to the fruits of his efforts.

Wow.  Simply wow.  Received my Pure Virginia Toast today.

It is a beautiful tan caramel color.  It is a fine fine grind, but with enough moisture that it is densely packed in its tin.  My first spoonful I lightly drug the spoon edge across the packed powder surface and loosened up enough for a snootfull or two.

The smell is beautiful.  It is sweet, and nutty, and almost has a caramelized scent that lingers.  But, there is a grassy plant like smell in there too.  It goes in the nose easy, feels great, and then that scent just lingers in there.

If you haven’t tried the Pure Virginia Toast or any other Old Mill Artisan Snuffs, you are seriously missing out.

Amazing, @chefdaniel.  Over time, I will be exploring your menu and placing more orders.

cant wait for my order tomorrow!

I’m also looking forward to sampling this toast, which appears to have reached a cult like status…

Pure Virginia Toast! I’m a happy snuffer.

Got it in my snoot right now.  :-)

Being a pipe smoker also, this snuff reminds me of the greatest top shelf Virginia tobacco for the pipe. But that doesn’t do this snuff justice. The nutty, grassy, very earthy and light touch of sweetness come together perfectly. I’m very glad @chefdaniel reccomended the maple liner, This will age amazingly.

I’m still using my PVT form last year, savoring every little bit for times when I want something delicious. I never carry it in my pocket. I keep my tin in the freezer, let it defrost, hold it my hands until it warms up, then carefully take a little hand carved spoon I made, scoop up a nice bump, and await the simple pleasure of this magnificent snuff. It ages really well. My tin is from about one year ago, and it is smooth and silky, a delight to the nostrils.I plan to order another large tin of this very soon!

When I reorder the PVT, it will be a large tin next time for sure.

How does one order this stuff.

@tlag77, contact Chef Daniel on his Contact Page:

He prefers to do every order person to person, rather than using sort of a nameless, voiceless web portal.
