Problems ordering with Northerner

This is actually about a snus order, I placed my first order with Northerner over the holiday (in the states) weekend (July 3rd it was placed) on the 5th the payment posted to my credit card. At this point my order still reads pending status via Northerners order tracking. I have sent two emails, Tuesday and Wednesday asking why my order is still in pending status. At this point I have not received a reply, and yes I have checked my spam folder. I am a bit discouraged at this type of responsiveness and delay from the perspective a first time customer. It wasn’t even a big order, just an experiment order. Is this typical, or maybe my expectations are too high following a holiday weekend and of course this PACT drama. Ken

Rest assured Ken, The Northerner is a respectable company. I’ve been ordering from them for 18 months already without problems. Being your first order you might be a bit to fast for them!

It seems Northerner is in flux do to Pact and them buying Getsnus to service the USA. There are pages and pages of gripes at the snus site. They are in a transitional FUBAR mode it seems. I have my own problems due to this, no use going into details, but it is almost impossible to check my orders or get a response from them, good luck, and only time will straighten it out. Bad business JuJu at work!

It is just a bad first impression in my book. I will try to be patient. Thanks for the responses. Ken

Nobody, no matter how much they thought so, was anywhere near ready for PACT. Good company, really bad timing.

Please be patient. This refers to Northherner and Getsnus. They have been slow to update their site for the pending/shipped issue. They are also very slow in answering emails lately. All due to PACT. They also sold out on a few items due to people stocking up before hand so there are some backorders lingering. Hang in there and give them some time. I can all but guarantee that you will get your order, its just that right now they are swamped. When things calm down their customer service will be back to normal. Most everyone that bitched about them on the snus site is slowly getting their issues worked out and getting their orders. PP

I placed a couple orders with GetSnus/Northerner and received superb service. The last 2 orders were kinda messed up though and it happened right around the time the PACT crap went into effect. I’m gonna have to say they will get their act together soon, I hope, as prior to this everything was fine.

Yeah the order will be fine. They are a pretty small operation from what I’ve read. Only a handfull of people. They must be extra busy now and also answering how many questions? I’am sure they may not have even read your e-mail yet based off of the possible number of people writing them. They usaly responded quickly not always so don’t worry. You’ll get ye snuses

I placed order with Northerner on June 28…still pending and no response to my email on Wednesday July 7. Placed an order with Buysnus on Thursday night and had a UPS confirmation and shipped confirmation email this morning - should be here Monday. Save a week and place another snus order somewhere else is my advice.

I’ve placed an order on the 1st and got my snus on the 5th (though i am ordering from the EU so no problems with PACT on the Swedish warehouse). Rest assured they make good on their end , I’ve orderd a bunch of times and never had a problem (aside from serious nicotine withdrawal because i keep forgetting to order _before_ i run out of snus).Their website has been a bit buggy recently though nothing serious.

I ended up coming across a great tobacconist in Wilmington NC that I made some purchases at, still nothing from Northerner though. Ken

@Ken: There is a tobbaconist up on Oleander by the mall that sells Poschl snuffs and General snus.

That is who I saw/went to. They also said that once those are gone they won’t be carrying them thanks to PACT and the FDA. Great shop and great guys. I mentioned the Toque line of products and they said that they needed a local distributor to purchase from. Ken

Would be great if they carried Toque. I guess they could go through Dave, I might shoot them an email and mention wholesalesnuff.com to them. Did you happen to check out the grocery stores? They usually carry some scotches.

The only grocery store I go to was Harris Teeter and from past experience the only snuff I would have found there would have been made from Ginsing and wild flowers and other things that makes Hippies think they have reached a higher plain! Ken

It has now been over a week since the payment has been deducted from my credit card. The site still says pending, no tracking number, no response to my email. I understand things are busy, but how busy can a niche market product (and let’s face it snus and snuffs are niche market products) site be that even an email response to a problem is not happening. I just find this a little disappointing, to say the least. Ken
