I have posted several times about how the pro marijuana crowd never mentions cancer or emphysema. It’s as if marijuana is sacred. Well, lo and behold. The press makes its initial moves to claim second hand smoke wasn’t so bad after all. Have to clear the decks for marijuana legalization and being able to get high anywhere, anytime. Quote from the article: England, which implemented a smoking ban nationwide, presented the first opportunity to study the matter on a national scale. Researchers there credited the ban with a heart attack reduction of just over 2 percent nationwide Here is the article link: http://www.slate.com/articles/health\_and\_science/medical\_examiner/2017/02/secondhand\_smoke\_isn\_t\_as\_bad\_as\_we\_thought.html
Tobacco Nazis. I’ve notice a few public parks have no smoking signage . But they have charcoal grills and the emissions from one of those is worse than if you smoke . Same with sitting around a camp fire toasting marshmallows or roasting wieners 12X higher risk than actual smoking yourself. Some people just don’t enjoy smoke and make it their life calling to make it impossible for the people who do. I know there are places you can’t even smoke in your car. I think its in NJ.
From what I understand the issue with cannabis isn’t the carcinogens its the tar content, it contains about 4 times more tar than Tobacco. As for carcinogens that all really comes down to how it is grown, though generally speaking contains less carcinogens. Also another factor is that the “usual” cannabis smokers consume far less plant matter than a smoker would in a day which would reduce the amount of cancer causing chemicals inhaled. Depending on how the marijuana is smoked also reduces this effect, using a water pipe removes a significant amount of water soluble impurities in the smoke, and using a vaporizer removes almost everything except the THC, CBD and Terpenes.
The main concern I see with cannabis is that it increases the risk of heart attack while under the influence up to 4.8 times! I do not promote cannabis though I also do not advocate against it, just like tobacco it has its time and place and a potential for medical uses if used correctly.
I agree with your post that Marijuana in the media has been painted as a magical cure or wonder drug as of recently due to the decriminalization going on, though I strongly believe this industry needs to be as heavily regulated as any other psychotropic and addictive medication. Unlike tobacco smoke I believe nobody should be exposed to cannabis smoke through 2nd hand smoking. As for tobacco smoke, 2nd hand smoke is absolute bullshit! There is no credible studies available (all the studies that have been published have been discredited in court!) i’ll rant about this some other time.
Recreational weed has been legal here for a couple of weeks now. And that’s all I have to say about that.
Been 17 years since I inhaled any. But do occasionally enjoy it taken orally in the form of candy or a beverage.
I’m sorry what did you say? I was busy gutting this cigarillo to roll with…
Funny stuff, guys. I’m neutral. Pot isn’t for me. It might be for you. My problem is the continued vilification of tobacco products. For years, the anti tobacco freaks have pounded the drum on second hand smoke. Suddenly it is OK? I don’t care if they legalize marijuana, just don’t allow tobacco to become outlawed. Just out of curiosity, what happens when RJ Reynolds gets in the marijuana game?
Can’t confirm if actual. But if there is money to be made Big Tobacco will become Big Cannabis. Changing with the times, Blend No.420
^ they’ll need to find a way of making cannabis “constituent” before they can mass produce weedarettes.
^ It will be stems made in to reconstituted sheets. No buds
^ If it was stems with cannabis it wouldnt get you high, you would get some CBD though
^ They would add THC to it just like they add nicotine to cigarettes. They would also add preservatives, chemicals so that it “tastes” like cannabis and a myriad of other chemicals to give them highly addictive properties just like they do to cigarettes.
^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Those green Marlboros do look nice though
n9inchnails nailed it. I look for it to happen in the future.
