I just ordered one of these from snuffstore, and was wondering what experiences people have had with them. It was quite expensive (around $20), and I’m just curious if it is going to be worth the money. I have read that you twist it one way for a small pinch, and the other way for a larger pinch. That seems very cool and innovative. At any rate, I’m just curious as to what it’s going to be like when I get it…so if any of you have one, please fill me in. Thanks. ~Snuffy
Didn’t know it had that feature, hopefully you’ll keep us posted. I might be interested in something like that too.
Never had one that delivers a sufficient pinch in one hit, but the metal ones are pretty robust and look good. I think the posh is the one with a metal screw in the middle of the base, if thats the one Im thinking of make sure the screw rests in the hole when you fill as fine snuff particles get in that effect the thread and tightness when you re-assemble - just saves you having to sluice it out regularly. The several I’ve tried were best with drier snuff as any clumping tends to stop the delivery.
Snuffy - I have seen them on the Internet before - they look really COOL!!! Take heed to, Snuffster - I have read about the snuff clogging the base plate screw hole, and causing the bullet not to close properly - also, the bullets I have (probably ALL bullets), do work much better with dry snuff {the moister snuffs don’t travel well through the fill hole, nor into the rotating chamber, thus delivering a lot less than a full ‘dose’ of snuff - or, no ‘dose’ at all} Mr. Snuff is going to start selling the ‘Posh’ bullets in the near future!!! Do you know if the one you ordered is aluminum, stainless steel, or chrome plated brass!!! They also make plastic versions!!! Please do let me know the type metal it is made of, and do give us a review on the “Posh” when your’s comes in and you get the hang of it!!! LORD BLESS!!!
I have two and they are well made The down side is they are very heavy for there size so you will need a good strong belt to keep your pants up. I also agree with snuffster the dose is a little on the small size. I think they must be chrome plated brass they don’t attract a magnet.
Good Post, Snuff Head!!! I saw the picture of one, and it was open, the inside looked unchromed and appeared to be ‘brass’ - so you may be exactly right!!! Of course the magnet wouldn’t be atracted to most stainless steels, aluminum, or brass - but because of the weight (you mention) - that would seem to rule out aluminum. I gotta buy one now, just to tear it up and see what it is made of…ROFL!!! Snuff Head, you say: “a good strong belt”, surely those things can’t be as heavy as a 1911 and two extra loaded magazines…ROFL!!! LORD BLESS!!!
SnuffyPM, lol! when I take my two bullets out with me I feel like the Lone Ranger!
Snuff Head: “SnuffyPM, lol! when I take my two bullets out with me I feel like the Lone Ranger!” ;^)…I knew you had a good sense of humour!!! That was well played… …but… …it reminded me, I only have one bullet, it ain’t silver, so I could be Barney Fife… :^O ROFL!!! LORD BLESS YOU Snuff Head!!!
Screw the snuff bullets! We need snuff guns!
Snuff ‘GUNS‘!!!ROFL!!!
I just purchased 2 pre-loaded snuff bullets. One from Dholakia and one from Toque. Both get clogged easy and I don’t get a hit worth a pinch. Can these plastic ones be drilled out also to make the shot bigger? Any suggestions guys?
You can pare the hole in the chamber down a bit with a craft knife or somesuch and make it deliver more, but at the end of the day this is the always the problem with bullets - small and inconsistent delivery. After trying most of the available types I’ve now come to the conclusion that they are a great idea that just doesn’t work very well. Mine are all long since dumped. To be honest BigBuyer my suggestion is one of the many cheap and excellent snuff boxes that the dealers are supplying these days.
I use bullets pretty much all of the time. I work in construction (concrete), so my hands are always dirty. Plus, I don’t really have the time to stop so I can pull out a tin and catch a quick pinch or two. The bullet is just so convenient. Plus, I have using it when I’m driving down to a science. =] ~Snuffy
Toque bullets will give a great hit with a little reaming and polishing and they don’t taste like plastic!! I’ve got a few I don’t need to twist anymore and give as big a hit as I can take. Once reamed out that much though, pocket carry gets a little messy!
I’m about on my third or fourth day ‘on the snuff’ (I’m using it instead of smoking and finding it really quite enjoyable) and have just purchased a posh bullet. I find it a lot less messy; probably down to my inexperience; because when I pinch it ends up all round my nose and down my clothes. It doesn’t deliver a big enough ‘pinch’, but I just keep twisting and snorting till I’ve had my fill. I’ll give mine a 7 out of 10. I’ve got another type in the post; an acrylic version that I think you have to turn upside down, so I’ll be to compare them when it arrives.
The first snuff delivery/transport method I purchased was a Posh. It worked great (although be careful with the fine snuffs as they fly too far up your nose if you sniff too aggressively from the Posh. Also, It didn’t handle moist Snuffs well at all, as others have suggested) until the screw was stripped. Part of me wishes that I had simply ordered the cheaper acrylic bullets instead, because the Posh’s screw is a fatal flaw, although I have no suggestions on how to improve it. I’m a political scientist, not an engineer!
