My god this snuff is beautiful! It’s down right delicious! In this beautiful tobacco profile, a flavor of honey and raisins seems to shine through. I’m absolutely in heaven with this one! Dry and medium coarse, I would say. Easy to sniff. Just delightful.
I like it too… Never heard it described as “a flavor of honey and raisins” before.
For me it so clearly reminds me of honey and raisins… take it for a nightcap and let yourself drift off into that aroma and you’ll see, its there… I drowned in a honey pot last night and that’s where I nested my dreams. Oh heavenly Brasil <3
This is the only Schmalzler I’ve tried and I love it too, it reminds me of premium Raspberry filled dark chocolate. But my 100g bag was very moist when I first got it and now 3 months later it is still very moist. I got it from www.snusory.com which is in Germany, where did you get yours from @Mario84?
I traded it with someone from the forum here. He bought it directly in Germany actually. It’s not very moist, but I rather like it this way. Its the least messy schmalzler I’ve tried, so it’s great in that respect too. I should check out snusory… never heard of it before ^^
^ Do check them out they have all the German snuffs you could want. Great service too, they left 1 item out of my order, I emailed them, they responded next day and gave me a refund. But that was when they accepted PayPal, they don’t anymore.
The schmalzlers that I am most familier with are made by Bernard’s.
They are indeed a beautiful thing. I love them too
This is indeed a snuff with surprising hints. Before I read the above short review I noticed a honey (or syrup) scent, and sometimes raisin comes through. And cocoa. But it seems to be a natural snuff. I Have before ground some cigars with Brasil wrapper (Mata Fina and Bahia) and they too had this chocolatery properties. Compared to snuff, schmalzers indeed are more fatty, tend to mess around and spoil a lot but that’s getting used to. Ordered a kilo and for the last 3 days, I didn’t snuff anything else as P
My the forum has changed a lot since last time I was logged in! Used to be white characters on a black background. I have to say it looked nicer that way.
Anyway, yes, schmalzlers can be very messy. This one is possibly especially messy. It’s dense hard granules (almost like soft sand) also tend to make me sneeze. So I have given up on this delicious snuff for a while. It’s a shame. Beautiful flavor, but I always sneeze it out and can’t use it relaxed/casually.
The journey of finding ones staple snuffs is long and ever-changing, huh? I live as an expat in Israel actually, and they have fantastic local schmaltzler and toast here, which is almost all I use for months now. The schmaltzler is good and such a comfort to use. I almost never get the snuffy runs or sneeze. Surprisingly enough their toast runs a lot more and makes me sneeze, but not as much as the Poschl we are talking about here.
every time I try and buy a schmaltzler it’s sold out. snuffstore isn’t working for the past 2 weeks and mr.snuff is always sold out. Anyone have another site that would ship to Canada so I can finally try a good schmaltzler?
@BenStein mysmokingshop in the UK has some Poschl and Bernard snuffs and provide excellent service to Canada. Highly reccomended.
@crullers, ordering now! Thanks a bunch!!! Loving snuffhouse more and more
I have like 40 grams of the aforementioned schmaltzler which I am willing to trade for American Scotch snuff, BenStein, if you are willing and able to get a hold of that for me. I am not so particular about being equal gram for gram either. Send me a PM if you are interested and willing to work out the details. I just need a snuff which is more comfortable for my nose. Love those creamy scotches these days.
I bought directly from snuffstore.de which is also located in Bavaria, so short lines!
Why can’t I find online, some more about the Bavarian schmalzler culture?
@spyder thanks but that’s more expensive as from snuffstore Germany. Or wrong link?
@Salmiak: I wasn’t comparing prices, just responding to your post that you could not find online.
What I CANNOT find online is: the Bavarian culture about it. It must be widely used there? I knew where to buy @spyder that wasn’t my question
