This has most of the typical Pöschl qualities in moisture, grind, texture etc. It also is too sweet and too mentholated like most of their brands. However, the menthol (though it could be toned down) is not completely overpowering of the flavor. I can detect a cola syrup flavor and some herbal notes. Somehow it mangages to be less cloying and slippery than its sister Gawith Apricot. I can’t see getting it again, but its fun for what it is. If they dropped the menthol and waxy moisture base I’d reconsider. Until then I’ll satisfy myself with Toque Coke. 3 stars because I like it better than most Pöschl snuffs. Rating 3/5 (graded on a curve as compared to others by this manufacturer) Grind: demigros Moisture: medium-moist Sytle: modern German style flavored menthol

I have a box of this I opened recently, and it seems to get better and better the more I use it. The cola flavor is pleasant in this, and the menthol is very light. I can’t even smell the menthol in this, but I can feel the coolness, and I love it. Poschl uses a medium grind that’s a little moist, and I feel like it sniffs smoother than real dry snuffs. It coats the nostrils, but doesn’t drip into the back of the throat like the real dry snuffs. You can tell right away when you sniff it that Poschl uses very high quality tobacco. Overall it’s very smooth, and not at all gritty like some of the Wilson Sharrow snuffs. The cola gives it a bit of a sweet scent that lingers in the nose for a long time. It also gives it a more complex experience than Glescherprise. These Poschl snuffs have good lasting power. They also give you a nice consistent buzz, but not overpowering. In my opinion Poschl is the best of the modern snuffs I’ve tried. Because of the lasting power, I don’t feel the need like to keep putting more and more in my nose every two minutes, like I found with the Silver Dollar brand. The Poschl tap boxes are super cool looking, but when you first open one they’re a little moist, so the stuff doesn’t tap out too well. I find after a couple weeks they dry out slightly, then it’s perfect for tapping out. At first, I was thinking I wouldn’t order it again, but after using it for a couple weeks, I’ve come to like it quite a bit. Still not as good as the Radford Premium, but I think I would buy it again.

So I don’t detect cola in this at all, I don’t think I would buy it again and I am still on the quest for a snuff that can help get me off of diet cola.

A

@Xander how did you manage to get away with posting the umlaut in Poschl?

Y

@Aamon, probably ok in the title, I also bet if you convert to html entities it will work.

The post was originally created on different forum software, which might make a difference.

I just got a tap box as part of a package deal. I really kind of like this, though I usually prefer plain tobacco snuff. The menthol is nice, as is the grind and moisture. Doesn’t seem to be causing any drip, which is nice. I do detect a faint cola scent. Don’t know that’d I buy it again, but it’s really not bad.

Y

@mecompco You get a cola scent ? I just got a sweet almost raspberry scent.

M

@yisraeldov, yes, I do get cola from this. Granted, my nose isn’t that sensitive, but no berry notes that I can determine. I’m not sure how fresh mine is, but the menthol is there, followed by a faint cola scent.

N

My dispenser says “cola” not “silver” could this have any bearing on the scent dispute?

Y

@nicmizer, can you send a picture ? I would not be surprised at all if mine was not in fact cola.

P

‘Silver’ is the post Tobacco Products Directive name of the ‘Cola’ Gawith flavour .

Personally I find the Cola element of the snuff works best with really modest pinches . In a large portion I find the menthol/cooling effect comes to the fore and dilutes the cola flavour .

A

@yisraeldov what is a converted html entry?

Y

@Aamon , getting off topic but
