I ordered a 10 gram box of SG Black Coffee and threw it away as I couldn’t stand the weird, artificial synthetic scent the tobacco had even after airing it for two days. I got a box of Kendal Brown Plain in the mail today and it had an almost exact same smell. Is it just that my nose is weird?

It’s probably the plastic containers which are no good at all for English snuffs. I’ve had both in the 25g tin and have not detected any off scents.

I could live with an artificial fruit scent. But the two snuffs I mentioned smell like some industrial grade chemicals. I haven’t had this problem with other snuffs in plastic tap boxes.

Agree re the gawith plastic tap boxes. My apricot has seemed to get worse over time. I used to like it, and I still do, but I do detect an off taste lately…

I just decanted it in a metal tin. The empty plastic box smells terrible.

I agree with lunecat–SG fruit snuffs are (almost) all artificially scented. I wrote to the company inquiring about their guarana snuff and was told it was, too.

I first tried SG Black Coffee via a 10g box, and must’ve got lucky cos it didn;t seem dried out at all, and to me the scent was as described on the box. Kendal Brown shares a similar robustness of scent, but to me isn’t much like Black Coffee other than that.

while i agree with people about the 10g tapboxes, i found exactly this with their coffee in a 25g tin too. i tried airing it, leaving it for weeks, nothing worked. i wanted to like the snuff so badly but i just couldnt get to enjoy it with the smell of chemical and lack of actual coffee. i got KB special which started with a similar (but milder) stench though that faded a little and i love it now. this confirms its not just my nose haha
