Just got in part of my order from Mr. Snuff-- got a few potlucks delivered today, 95% of which are QSnuff-- they came decent, only problem, they smell like cheap plastic. It’s not just a hint of plastic, its as if this is flavored with the essence of a brand new unwashed cheap water bottle. Anyway I can save this? I’ve got too many to want to throw away (50 er so). Anyone think this is a hazard?
Spread it out on a cookie sheet and place it in a warm oven around 180- 200 for 5 minutes let cool and try. If it still smells of plastic next batch add a minute or two. You will need to flavor and hydrate to your liking. Then store it into glass jars.
Thanks@basement_shaman
So the leeching plastic is not harmful?
I say it would be, so the oven should toast the plastic out. If it don’t work I wouldn’t use it for intake.
Ah I see, thanks! Hopefully it works-- It’d be a shame to waste 300g of snuff :[
Which one did you order? The box of Apricot I got was fine.
My one and only potluck experience was Q Snuff. Reeked of plastic as well so I tossed it. No sense bothering with it in my case because I have a mountain of tasty stuff waiting for me to imbibe!
Yeah, I buried the potlucks in my huge tasty order :]
Think it might be worth saving 300g of at least decent snuff, if I can get the plastic out of it.
I order some potlucks last week, hope I don’t get the same stuff as you… Don’t think the wife would be thrilled with an oven full of snuff ?
Nope. In my experience, you need to buy everything new xD. No using the family crock pot, roaster, oven, microwave, pots and pans, cutting board, kitchen knives, hair dryer, hair straightener, hair clips, spatulas, ladle, or induction cooker. The worst is when they don’t say anything, then they walk away. Makes you sit back, and contemplate if the tobacco was worth it
I have about a pound of snuff I put through my new ball mill that picked up the rubbery scent from the new rubber in the sealed canister, it’s totally unacceptable for snuffing but I was thinking to process it out as snus. I’m thinking the cook should drive out most of the scent and then I might add cherry to it for the aging. I’ll let you know if it was a success, don’t throw any out, tobacco can usually be salvaged from most issues even if it ends up in a form otherwise different from where you started.
Well wouldn’t you know it I got the same pot lucks as you… Won’t be ordering one of them again for awhile lol
Half dreading the second half of my order… has the rest of the 200g potlucks. Well… perhaps I can bake it out… or sprinkle it in the garden. Brightside, I’ve got 30 handkerchiefs now :]
