I am looking for a very plain, little or no flavor, snuff to mix with some American scotches. The one requirement would be some moisture and a medium to medium fine grind. I am currently mixing Rockit Naked with Standard Scotch and it is just OK. I can snuff the scotches fine at home, but when I am walking down the street or on the golf course they usually wind up either in the wind or down in my lungs. By making them more moist and a little more substantial I am hoping to make them easier to use under non-optimal conditions while still retaining the scotch flavors. Any thoughts?

Madras could possibly be the plainest Snuff on the planet. Good natural Tobacco flavour. Toque Natural is another excellent choice.

The Madras I got from tom502 has quite a bit of spice to it. Why not try Gawith Hoggarth Plain?

I’m pretty sure its cardamom. Anybody else detect it?

I got some of that from Tom502 also. I think it smells like a veterinarian’s office. It’s the nicest of the Indian ones, for me anyhow. (odd combination of sentences, I know). maybe I’m just sensitive to this type of tobacco

I use Ntsu to moisten and make the US scotches more managable. Because Ntsu is a plain snuff, it blends in well with the scotches without changing the flavour. And, of course, it enhances the nicotine kick. I use it every day.

Adding to what Pieter wrote, if you are looking for a coarse and moist snuff, try Taxi Red or Blue.

I agree with Xander, Gawith Hoggarth Plain is the plainest snuff I have come across. The only problem is the only store I have found that sells it is My Smoking Shop, and if you live in the USA you can’t buy snuff from them.

There has to be a workaround on the MSS issue. I want to try when I have some funds. I want to get some of the Frederick Tranter snuff too, same issue there.

McChrystal’s S’nuff is quite plain, medium grind, a little dry with a high nic content.

Dholakia Sparrow is good too.
