Ping-Ponging

I have been using this term lately to describe a session with two different snuffs that compliment each other (for my tastes of course). I take one and then the other about 10 or 15 minutes later, and repeat. I also will switch it up a little and take one up one side of the nose and the other up the other side of the nose, and then switch sides. Is this a pretty common technique, and is there another term for it? Sorry about my fixation on terminology.

I thought you were referring to a show you witnessed in Thailand when I saw the title. But I think ping-ponging is a good enough phrase as any.

@Jim Sounds good to me. Variety is the spice of life !

@Kentuckysnuff‌ told me how he does something similar with Limoncello and Toast and Jelly. I haven’t tried it yet but it sounds like breakfast in bed (with Angelina Jolie). Yummy.

@chefdaniel It’s a genius idea. Prepare two bumps on your anatomical snuff box. Space them at each side of your web, it should be exactly apart length-wise as to put into each nostril. Consume simultaneously in each nostril. Absolutely beautiful. The best part is you can test out different snuff mixtures this way without wasting large amounts.

I sometimes alternate between SG Black Coffee and their Vanilla, both of which are excellent and complement each other, and will occasionally add a little vanilla after a pinch of black coffee, but I’ve never tried one in one nostril and t’other in t’other. That might feel a bit like going cross-eyed.

The thought has never occurred to me. I’ll mix me some frankensnuffs, but it seems a lot of bother to carry multiple boxes and alternate pinches. Not to mention the difficulty presented by thinking about what nostril is filled with what snuff. I learn a lot here. Not all of it useful for me but there really are some clever folks around here.

Out of interest @jim, what are you currently ‘ping-ponging’ then? Or does anyone else have any suggestions?

Write your definition in the urban dictionary

When (Toque) Chocolate and Peanut Butter collide, instant magic, like in the old Reese’s commercials.

@cpmcdill‌ that sounds absolutely divine!

@cpmcdill poses a good example of when two scents can naturally go together. I have enjoyed Dholakia Swiss Chocolate followed by Toque Peanut Butter and visa versa on many occasions because it’s really nice and a great way to up the anti on the nic hit. I just ping-ponged OM Solstice and Spotted Dick. They are Vol. 1 & 2 kind of snuffs to me. They have similar scent profiles with a similar grind and moisture. I also really enjoy using White Elephant as a chaser for other snuffs because for me it gives a quick nic hit and seems to somehow renew the lost scent of a previous snuff and clear the nostrils… kind of like ginger on a sushi platter. I don’t do a lot of one snuff in one nostril and another in the other, as I’ve found this can become cloying. I just sometimes chase snuffs with other snuffs. Ping-ponging may not have been the best title? It was a stream of consciousness post at the time during a snuff marathon.

Ping-ponging in music production is a delay effect where echoes of a sound bounce back and forth between the left and right speakers. I suppose it would be natural to carry the analogy over to the nostrils. Maybe a clearer analogy for alternating two snuffs one after the other might be leap-frogging.

I like following Auld Alliance with many Viking Dark pinches. It’s a pretty good compliment to Auld Alliance and, as much as I would like to, I can’t do Auld Alliance all day. I don’t know if this is exactly ping ponging but, it’s what I like to do.

Viking Dark and Dholakia White are my personal yin and yang. I whiff-waff between those two. The Dholakia does an excellent job at clearing the congestion that the Viking sometimes causes.

When I look at five grams ,it seems like a mountain. If ping ponging is chasing one after another, I am guilty of ping ponging, I just call it rotation. If it was cigarettes it be chain smoking. Chain snuffing sound like I have a problem. I like my white’s first and then my desert snuffs to follow.

I thought I was the only one who mixed toque chocolate and peanut butter together! It works great with dohlakia Swiss choc too!
