There was some discussion about these on the Ingloreous Basterds post, and I have now had a chance to check them out. First off, they are pill boxes not snuff boxes. They have little plastic dividers inside which would have to be removed before snuff use, unless you have small fingers or use a snuff spoon in which case they would work well to keep two (or three) snuffs in one box. They click closed with a little push button release. They appear reasonably tight, BUT I am not sure I would trust them in my pocket. They would make a lovely desk snuff box, if you use one of these (I have several). They come in various designs ranging from old world manly, to, well…not very manly (cute little kitties would be an example). The good news is that they are well priced at $14 and change for a box of six. I took yet another look at these pill boxes over the weekend and in good conscience I can’t recommend them to anybody as a snuffbox except possibly on the tabletop. There is no way they are ‘snuff-tight’. Looks like I need to get some new listings on eBay! However we do now have some outstanding snuff boxes on the site which I have no problem recommending. I bought one today in a charity shop for two quid. Beautiful little bargain but would never suit as a pocket box, I think they would just spring open at some point. However, as said, they would make ideal table boxes for a nights snuffing indoors - I guess anything more than that would just leave the snuff bone dry. I could see me having it on the tabel if I had folks over for dinner though. My advice: if you see one going cheap for a couple of £/$ get it, but don’t order a tray of the things. I still think they are a nice range to carry if there is a bit of explanation on the ad. The Prof desribes them as ‘snuff boxes for the impecunious’!! Mr Snuff, maybe break em down into singles for a cheap, pretty box rather than a bulk buy?
