Wondering if anyone’s danced with the Deutsch enough to drop some knowledge on me and help along my next Mr Snuff order. Last one round, I picked up a Bernard’s Polar Prise and Gletscher Prise Extra. I vastly prefer the former, though I feel so “mainstream” about it. Kind of like a cigar smoker whose preference is Macanudo. I have to feel there’s something out there that will really float my boat. If this helps, the reason I like GP better than Polar is that Polar has a bit of a weird flavor on the back end. I think this has something to do with it being Brazilian tobacco. I could be wrong. I do know that I don’t like Brazilian leaf in Cigars as a general rule, because it has just the bitterness or something unpleasant to me. I hope I’m wrong on this, because a lot of that Bernard’s stuff looks very intriguing, but a lot of it is Brazilian. Is this a snuff/Schmalzler distinction? (Yes, read that thread.) So, rage best way I know how to put this is in cigar terms: I’m really liking the ubiquitous brand. In things similar, what is the Davidoff?
keep trying the polar prise the weirdness will change into awesomeness. It’s a fact.
That’s good to know. I hope that also means not too be scared off by other Bernard’s. Love the history of that company. Thinking their Oktoberfest would suit me nicely.
Bernard is the best snuff company on the mainland of Europe. I love nearly everything they produce. (Sorry Sternecker, you make fantastic snuffs too, but the variety isvery limited [but that’s fine since you are very specific and traditional -don’t change a thing!])
And how right you were there, Bob. More Bernard’s on the way.
You might enjoy Fichtenadle(sp?) which is fir/pine scented on top of that good Bernard tobacco base. Also, Steife Prise, which is strong peppermint.
