Out of curiosity, has anyone yet found a perique snuff? I’ve seen a few threads about this, and am surprised to see the silence. @abraxas or @roderick, any chance either of you might have something in the works?
Still waiting and hoping. I believe @snuffmiller may have a recipe for one. I seem to remember him looking for some perique at one time.
I’ve ground some perique pipe blends up, but my best snuff making still doesn’t reach the level of quality I prefer.
Try soaking some blending Perique in water then adding the liquid to a plain snuff.
I have been grinding moist Perique in coffee mill, then adding to Viking Dark, Cob Dark, and Old Paris. It only grinds down to very coarse, probably should dry it then it would get finer. But I did sieve a little thru pantyhose and snuffed it straight up. Really pleasant, very deep, rich taste with decent nicotine. I plan to dry adding it to some different snuffs to see how it adds to flavors. This is my first experience w/ it, and I think it makes an excellent snuff.

Perique is such an interesting type of tobacco, it will be very interesting to see what a master blender of snuff can come up with. If it’s anything like Havana Toast I thing we’re all in for something really special
