Pan Parag Gutkha

I love tobacco in all its forms, but I have to say I found this product just plain terrible. I’ve always wanted to try paan, but if paan is anything like this then I’m not impressed. It’s like chewing bits of hard, jagged, dusty incence. It took forever to get that taste out of my mouth. At least it’s cheap.

This is no way near to Pan (mouth freshener) it is completely different. Gutkha is currently banned in many states in India. Nothing compares to snuff keep snuffing…

I thought that stuff was betel nuts?

Paan has betel nut, and the gutkha is supposed to have it too. The spit from paan is red, though, and the spit from this stuff is greyish. I’m not sure what’s missing in the gutkha.

I love gutkha. It takes some getting used to for sure, but then so does snuff. Once you do get used to it the right gutkha has a massive nicotine buzz and you can slowly chomp on it for hours. In my personal nicotine delivery method schedule, gutkha definitely has a place for occasional use.

Isn’t betel nut supposed to have some effect that we in the states aren’t responsible enough to handle?

@Dogwalla: betel nut is a pretty strong stimulant. I’m not sure if it’s legal in the U.S. or Canada, but Canada customs opened my package from Mr. Snuff (which included the gutkha) and let it through (with no charge for duty!).

I too like and buy gutkha from the local indian store that has many varieties. It has a great taste that refreshes and invigorates. It is a combination of tobacco and betel nut. Not for the weak of heart.
