I am aware of the different thoughts so far as to reacting to Pact, and for those not subject to it my apologies, but as I am a natural hoarder the Pact act has kicked my snuff acquisition OCD into overdrive. I have made my purchases and seem to be oddly happy at the moment, with most of my demons temporarily at rest! Here is a list of my transgressions: McChrystals: Mild Lemon 200g S’nuff 200g Hopfen Schnupf 400g ( need more of this!) Wilsons: Tom Buck 450g Irish DHT #20 650g S.S. 650g Fubar Grunt 1kg Sad isn’t it! And before you add to the list, I already have an embarrassing amount of tins. I need help - And BTW Mr. Snuff, the Pact Bulk discount is not helping me with my problem one little bit!

With the Mr. Snuff discount, I’m about to order 10 tubs of O&G, 1 big Dholakia White and one of the Black. I’m also going to fill a few other gaps in my collection. While I hate to put out this much $ all at once, I want to be assured of a future supply.
While I am a hoarder as well, my one cautionary tale comes from the recent election. Around the time Obama was elected I was in the process of buying a new pistol as I have my concealed carry permit (it had nothing to do with the timing of the election, it was just coincidence). Anyway, during this time, weapons and ammunition went sky high. It seems all the fear-mongers had convinced themselves that Obama was going to take away their right to bear arms and purchase ammo. So, what did they do? They all started buying guns and ammo like mad, driving up the demand and creating an actual shortage. A year and a half later I can still go purchase ammo and thankfully the prices have leveled out a bit. Yes, I am a gun loving liberal. I’m currently set on snuff for the next 2-4 years, but like the rest of you, I still feel the compulsion to buy some more of my favorites in bulk.
snuffegnugen brings up a good point…overnight it seemingly became impossible to find ammunition…whether you are in to that or not is besides the point…isn’t a bad idea to stock up a little bit though–hell I just got an order in today (no bulks, actually just stuff I wanted to try.)
In either case, you have lots of guns, ammo and snuff. Always better to be on the safe side. But in the guns and ammo case, last year prices were being driven sky high, and there were a lot of local gun shops that were simply out of ammo and couldn’t get anymore. That’s like buying gold at $1250 an oz. On the other hand, bulk snuff prices are currently at very low levels. I might suggest discretion on this forum however, since I’ve heard that certain State Attorney’s General have been subpeoning the records of large cigarette shippers over the last year, and hitting certain customers with large tax bills due and payable immediately. Take the deal, but keep your amounts purchased to yourself to be on the safe side. Just my opinion; I actually enjoy knowing what other people are buying since it makes me feel more normal. Also, I don’t think the PACT discount applies to Dholakia, just what Mr. Snuff can order in one large shipment from the UK.
I guess I was just curious about what others were doing, I do not consider my buying normal! As for the Grunt, I was stocking up long before Pact, love it, and have noticed a definitive flavor change in the batches produced this year, Kinda funky with a pronounced lower coconut flavor. I was really stunned by the irrational gun and ammo buying last year, I have been a lifetime collector and shooting hobbyist, and have always loaded my own ammo except for .308 ball, which I shoot in H&K’s. The H&K 91 just destroys cases due to the fluted chamber design, so I bought a crate of it back in the 90’s, 20,000 rounds, dirt cheap surplus, and I felt I was sitting on a gold mine. Never sold any though, still shooting all I want. I had so many buddies just desperate to acquire ammo at any price, was some what surreal. I feel my gun collection has gained far more value than any other investment I ever made. I think that any Tax due to the state off of snuff would be negligible compared to 30 some odd cartons of cigarettes, although I am sure they would be stupid enough to spend serious money looking for nickels.
Fubar Grunt 1kg Wow Whalen. Can you post a pic of this particular stash of Grunt? I can’t even imagine the size of it.
@ lazer, 1 Kg is about what you get if you buy the stokers snuff too. It comes in 2lb tubs, just .2lbs shy of a kg.
A kilo is not that much, 20 50 g tubs. In my case two 250g tubs and 10 50g gram tubs. I like Fubar Grunt!
I just don’t want to order a giant bulk, as I’m not a heavy snuffer as it is. But I did just make an order on a whim, as I have been laying off menthols for a bit, and just sticking with Indian snuffs, but I got this Temptation Cherry Menthol on my last order, and while it’s not bad, it’s just so darn weak, in both the menthol, and the cherry, and I just had an urge to get some menthol fruity snuffs, so I ordered 8 tins of various Wilsons snuffs(not all fruity menthol). But really, I have enough snuff to last my lifetime, I really believe, and I don’t have that much. I used to have a whole lot, but I exchanged them off.
I’m going to be making a bulk order probably tomorrow, but unfortunately not as large as I am wanting, maybe 1kg total. And hopefully in another month or so another order about the same size. Being new to the snuff world, I’m upset that I may not be able to try all the wonderful snuffs out there before this PACT act goes into effect and I’m buying bulk of just a couple of the ones I know I really like.
I made some PrePact bulk orders this morning myself snuff noob. Determining what I should go for was difficult to some degree for me as well. Focused acutely the entire past week on my snuff collection as it stands and ended up getting 3 drums of WoS from MrSnuff, Gold Label, Grand Cairo, IDHT 20, nice 20% Dave thanks! Also a drum of SG Scotch from snuff.me.uk Between an impending raise in prices and a sense of patriotic duty to NOT pay taxes along with the observations of all the more seasoned folks here regarding the quality and storage advantages of bulk, now is most certainly the time to get those orders in.

I placed a meager order with MrSnuff Last week…I really can’t see using up what I already have in my lifetime…But one can never have enough Menthol snuffs on hand as I am fond of pointing out! I do agree the going is good now if one needs some snuff! The Wiz!

@snuff noob hehe, it’s been a looong time since I purchased a “key” of well, anything (-; Good morn Wiz! Buying by the drum has a bit of an advantage price-wise, 260g drums vs 10g tins is on average around $0.07 a gram cheaper for the WoS products, in the case of the SG Scotch it was like $0.16 less. After seeing all the reference here to the quality of scent being better from being “fresher” along with retaining said freshness longer, it was time for me to step up from the small tins. I honestly can’t see using the amount I will have acquired in what may be left of my lifetime, but I will pinch with greater satisfaction knowing the taxman has been met at the door and forbidden entrance!
I consider the 200g McCrystals tubs to be a lifetime supply, I was at odds trying to decide what to get. I stocked heavy on Irish DHT #20 since it is just so good! Also Wilsons S.S., just wonderful snuff to me. Grunt just is a perfect snuff for me. Almost forgot, 200g of Whiskey and Honey from Roderick. For everything else I got two 25 gram tins, which is a lifetime supply of lesser favorites. I truly do love the freshness factor of bulk. I am looking forward to some serious trading with my fellow ISTA hoarders. One of my regrets is having such a bad reaction to menthols, I would love to stock some O&G, I love the taste but can take weeks to unclog. it seems that now the Armageddon locker is filled I can go back to ordering a 10 gram of this and that.

I suppose I’ll be putting in bulk orders several times over the next few months. I’ll probably wind up with an insane hoard of snuff because of it, and I’m sure I’ll still be able to buy it somewhere. It might be more expensive to get once the PACT act goes into effect, and more limited, but it will be available. I really just want to guarantee that I can have plenty of my favourites though, so I’ll still be putting in my bulk orders. Also stocking up on PC snuffboxes. By the way, how are our main US suppliers going to cope with this whole mess? Are Mr. Snuff and NicotineRush eventually planning on shutting up shop, or have they found alternative shipping options? I honestly wouldn’t mind if I had to pay $15 for shipping by some obscure delivery service, it would just reduce the number of impulse buys I make.
