My son, an occasional snufftaker, had lost his box (12,5 g) of De Kralingse Limburger tabak. Couldn’t find it anywhere. Today I was getting the laundry from the clothesline and found it in the pocket of one of his shirts. It had been in the washing machine for an hour at 40 degrees Ceslius. To my surprise the snuff inside was still dry and fresh. Great boxes, We’ll be missing them.
That’s an amazing story. Keep the old boxes, they’re easily reused as you probably realize.

I wouldn’t have guessed they were waterproof by looking at them. Good idea to save them, @snuffbox.
I have a small collection already since they’re among my favorite snuffboxes. They work perfectly for the Latakias De Kralingse sells and they are fine for most other snuffs too. The only problem is I suspect the cap will eventually fatigue and break but they have a pretty good service life. Have not broken one yet.
@snuffbox, sometimes I fear for the cap as well. Some of them don’t even click anymore when closed, but they always remain shut, even in my pocket. Good suggestion to keep them.
